How did Jimbo do it? Only one of their players has an NIL deal. I'm stumped.

Because he’s lying

I’d like to know what that one player is because I know for sure one of them got paid.

Ready for everyone to acknowledge that Dabo was right and was the only one with the stones to say that this was gonna be an absolute free-for-all shitshow…

2019 will never be topped for me. I’m glad we went to many of the games but it will never be the same.

Per Ryan Day:

Top Tier QB's require $2M in NIL
Elite Edge Rusher require $1M
Top Offensive Tackles require $1M

Day said if you're not in the game when the players ask you're done.

Oh now, COME ON.

Everyone knows that all of these inner city 5-star ghetto lads' biggest dream was to relocate to Middle-of-Nowhere College F*cking Station.

It's TRUE -- just ask Jimbo Fisher.

People will still watch.

I personally like seeing all these coaches making 5-10 million bitch and moan about the players (the ones actually out on the field winning the games) finally starting to get their slice of the pie. I like seeing them bitch and moan about the transfer portal too because coaches will bolt for a better opportunity in a heartbeat and leave an entire roster they recruited high and dry.

NIL and the transfer portal are a reckoning for coaches who for decades have been making obscene amounts of money to teach a frickin’ extracurricular activity at an institution of higher learning. They’re not solving the country’s problems or preparing the youth to change the world. They’re glorified PE teachers, and I’m glad to see the players empowered.

Isn’t this straight up admitting to violating the NIL rules? I understand that they won’t sanction anyone. But this is legitimately saying “we as a school pay”

Yea I mean it insinuates that it's a recruiting tool, which everyone already knows.
honestly don't think anyone cares anymore though. Gotta appreciate the transparency, throwing out rates and shite

No, it does not. What Day is saying is what it will take to keep your top players from being poached every off-season.

Read what he said. He spoke about keeping a current roster intact.

Looking forward to half of Ohio State’s roster having Bath and Body Works deals aka Les Wexner funding everything.

On another note, can you imagine getting $2 million cash as an 18 year old? Without even playing a down of college football? just insane money at that age. if their parents are smart they can help set their kids up financially for a long time.

wonder when they just completely drop the pretext that these guys are getting a quality education.

Hey, if it’s worth it to him to get elite players to attend OSU, then great. Capitalism, baby. Way too much money in college sports to joke about amateurism anymore.

I’m happy for the players on all this. They bust their asses and even the guys who are just shy of NFL material have a talent a hell of a lot rarer than the lightning-in-a-bottle 20 y/o TikTok and IG stars out there making millions.

The NIL deal the way it's supposed to be is fine. The way it's being used now, is not.

This is pay for play.

I don’t know if NIL by itself would’ve killed cfb, but NIL+instant eligibility transfers has for me.

It’s the NFL without contracts. I watched a kid quit on his team in a NC game last year because he knew he was transferring.

Eli Ricks shouldn’t be at Bama and I don’t care what free agents are doing while they wear crimson uniforms in Tuscaloosa.

This is the last season for me and that’s only because I already have tickets, won’t be renewing.

How many of these kids are going to end up broke or never seeing a fraction of that money with agents, managers, handlers in their ears?

Good players and elite recruits were always getting paid under the table. That said, this quote plus the unrestricted transfers confirm that it’ll be the death of college sports
