Ryan Day is the first major coach to openly speak about the going rate for elite talent.

Per Ryan Day:

Top Tier QB's require $2M in NIL
Elite Edge Rusher require $1M
Top Offensive Tackles require $1M

Day said if you're not in the game when the players ask you're done.

On the one hand I hate it...on the other, I like the openness

How did Jimbo do it? Only one of their players has an NIL deal. I'm stumped.

I don't mind NIL that much but NIL combined with the transfer portal makes CFB way less fun to me.

I also don't understand the guys out there throwing millions at kids to help win college football games. I can think of way more fun things to do with my money than help sign Arch Manning.

Made the CFP twice, finals once, and won a Rose Bowl.

In his 3 years as HC.

I've been done with all sports sans College Football for years.

College Football is hanging by a thread.

Since the system is determining champions isn’t at all fluky like March Madness, I don’t see why there will be that kind of pressure, especially with an expanded playoff.

Isn’t this straight up admitting to violating the NIL rules? I understand that they won’t sanction anyone. But this is legitimately saying “we as a school pay”

Overall state of CFB is not an enjoyable product.

I’m not sure there has ever been something off the field (NIL and portal) that has nearly ruined the sport for me.

Offense isn't the problem.

Of course Ohio State is okay with it. They are one of like three schools with a blank check on football. No cost is too high.

Not even a Texas goes as far

Wow… this makes what Jimbo did without paying look even more impressive. Then again, what 18 yo wouldn’t want to live in College Station?

Jimbo is smart with his words, as he said that none of his players had RECEIVED any NIL monies. Players are not allowed to RECEIVE any money till they arrive on campus. Those 7 5 stars all got big bucks, take it to the bank.
