You don’t have to trash others to lift up your own, seemingly to seek the appeal of others. That’s all he saying. Because if you’re doing that to gain favor from a group, and they require you to trash your own to be in their group, that’s a pretty shitty and morally corrupted group. It’s only inflammatory because you don’t like what he said and it challenges your elementary understanding of what he said. Bests to stay out of it or read a book to get caught up on the nuances of the topic
