I haven't heard anything close to that other that contingencies for schools open with games culled by other schools being out.

I am hearing of 2 pretty big school boards(governing bodies) toying with a 2 week shutdown.

Damn....I've worked all week on my son learning to throw a good spitball.

Batters would have been terrified.

I think the idea is to limit unnecessary gatherings.

School is required, sports are not.

Doesn’t really matter. Once one closes the domino effort will begin.

last night in north texas games were stopped mid way. Also looks like LHSAA getting heavy external pressure to shut down. Both school systems that met yesterday decided not to shutter - but want all extra curricular events culled.

Well it’s not fun

My senior prom and probably my graduation trip and maybe my graduation itself are out the window

Whatever happened to adults with a back bone? Just because your neighbor is doing something doesn’t mean you have to. The herd mentality in this country is ridiculous.

Students are far more likely to contract/pass on a virus in the closed confines of a classroom as opposed to the open air, hot and humid outdoors.

Everyone on the governing bodies that votes to shut down the season should be removed

Yeah, the rationale and explanations for shutting down sporting events and limiting large gatherings is counterproductive when you consider school campuses have 1000+ people crammed on a campus for 8 hours a day...some campuses have well over 2,000 bodies

I am not in favor of cancelling but..... and this is a big but.. there are some external powers that the LHSAA must abide by such as the NFHS and state DHH..
