Yeh Rory trains in America, uses America to get better at golf, and competes for Europe in the Ryder cup. So when he licks up a point it’s really showing the benefits of American golf not European golf
Poulter also trains and lives full time in America

Well a lot of guys train and live in the United States, so I didn't necessarily mean it in that way.
Rory has never seemed to have a ton of pride in where he's from, and he basically said as much in his quote about this topic. He's also been quoted as saying America is the greatest country in the world and that's why he wants to live here. He also seems to have some opinions about American politics and all that.
Guys like Poulter, Paul Casey, etc. seem to have a lot more pride in the UK/England than someone like Rory does about where he's from, that's all I'm saying.

I hear you, but it just takes away the entire point of the Ryder cup
Our best vs your best. But most of Europe’s best is in all reality American golfers that just have a different cover on their passport

Rory didn't say anything wrong here. It was a very measured, thoughtful response.

Strange melt.
Care to explain to us why he's"filth?"
Somehow I think we won't get an answer.

Because hes a POS who apologized for playing golf with the President of the United States, which should be an honor for anyone. Especially one that has done as much for golf as any president in history.
Are you ignorant or just very low IQ?

He lives here in the states. It's amazing how many athletes represent a non-US country in international competitions yet live in the US (Naomi Osaka being one example).
Jon Rahm, and a bunch of the other PGA guys.

Those are 2 pretty big situations. Osaka was raised in the US. Rory moved here when he was an adult

I honestly don’t even know which country he would be patriotic to. Northern Ireland has a weird situation. Northern Ireland is part of the UK but is obviously located on the island of Ireland.
ETA: it’s even more confusing than I realized. In the Olympics, athletes from ‘Great Britain’ compete on the same team. That is the country of England, Wales, and Scotland. Basically it’s the entirety of the UK minus Northern Ireland. I don’t even think Great Britain is a political designation so I don’t get it.

Yeah Great Britain is just an island I thought? Yet they compete in the Olympics as a country.
Then the United Kingdom is just Great Britain plus Northern Ireland... honestly it's all pretty dumb.

McIlroy is essentially an American and has always wanted to live here and ay on the PGA tour. That was his dream.
How is he literally an American but infants and kids brought here and raised from pre-K through college not considered American and need to use programs like DACA?
Never got how some foreigners are just "American" while others who actually were raised in the country and know nothing but the country are just not.

Could you translate this to English?
