are you afraid if they land Rondo and have to give up Parsons, that the rockets wont have enough outside shooting?

That would be a big issue this year, but not something that couldn't be fixed by next year. In listening to Morey's interviews it seems like he doesn't think we have much of a shot to win it all with the team as it is built right now. I don't necessarily agree but he calls the shots.

That's part of the reason OKC dealt him since's he's not a catch and shoot player.
Since when has this been a thing?

Can always go small and have Harden play the 3 in crunch time. That's what I think they'd do if the roster stays the same as it is now.

Lin
Harden
Parsons
Dwight

Would it concern you that Parsons would be guarding guys like Ibaka, Griffin, etc. with that lineup in the playoffs?

I can't see Perkins and Jordan being on the floor at the end of games for LAC and OKC.

Hell yeah. They would have to swing another deal for a guy like Dunleavy. Still, that's a lot of chemistry you're playing with.

Rockets promoting upcoming fan meet-and-greet with "surprise" Rockets player. Wise move to phrase it that way ahead of the trade deadline.

Paul Pierce was a similar type of player as Harden.

This is a good point. In the first practice Rondo would call Dwight a "soft bitch" and then shite would go down. After all, no one is gonna call Rondo "soft".
Additionally, Rondo got along fine with KG, who most of the league seems to have some animosity for.

You don't know what a "catch and shoot" type player is?
Ray Allen is the greatest of all time for an example.

He was the only one he got along with.
Howard and KG aren't exactly the same personalities.

Because rondo learned to be a beta to KG. KG is the ultimate alpha in a locker room.

I would love to add rondo, I think he would bring some much needed defense to the team for sure. However I don't want to see Parsons leave, but if Morey doesn't plan on paying him then the best thing to do would be to trade for some value.

This x10.
Not even remotely close to being the same player.

The Rockets want to acquire Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo, according to sources familiar with Houston's thinking.
What does this even mean??
It means... according to my friend, who's father in law, knows a guy that just had a conversation with somebody who said that he saw a post about the rockets pursuing Rondo on a message board....
Basically.

If HOU exercises the team option and pays him the $964K next season you gotta think that would turn Parsons off from giving any type of hometown discount the following season(as a UFA). If they want to lock him up they need to do it this offseason or trade him. The problem extending him before the end of his contract is you lose the additional year of only having to pay him 1 milltion. Also, with that is with Lin and Asik coming off the books at the end of next season, if Parsons is already signed that reduces what they could offer to another max player.

I don't understand where this "Dwight is soft" nonsense is coming from. You don't become one of the best rebounders and interior defenders by being soft. Call him indecisive if you want, but soft? No.

Not just outside shooting, but scoring in general.

I would be shocked if they willingly let Chandler walk, or even trade him away. I really think Morey wants him to grow with this team. He just has to decide if it's better to take the risk of someone offering him a STUPID contract in RFA that we would have to match, or risk him taking his game to another level (again) before his URFA next year and prcing himself out of Houston entirely.
But I really want to keep him. He is undoubtedly the "glue guy" for this team. His effort never changes, his attitude is always good, he has a very diverse skill set, and he's probably the most consistent player we have.

I agree with all of this, what do you think his value is? I'm sure there's a team out there that would give him a contract similar to Batum - 4yrs/44mil
