@MarkBermanFox26: NHL sources: #Rockets owner @TillmanJFertitta has met with NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman about potential of bringing the NHL to Houston. Fertitta has had preliminary talks about buying & relocating the @ArizonaCoyotes to Houston. Nothing on that happening now. No decisions close

I can’t imagine the nhl would let that happen. Didn’t they just build a whole brand new complex for hockey out there?

This is most like a nothing report.

Wow that's chickenshit. Guess they figure the hassle of turning the court to a rink or back any which way for a concert isn't worth it? What's the deal here?

I will be pretty pissed if this (or any NHL franchise) doesn’t happen because of the Harris County Sports Authority. Would love to know the reasoning behind it

Seems to be pretty easy in a lot of places, including Dallas. I doubt this is a reason.

Yet the conversion between basketball and hockey seems to work in Los Angeles, Detroit, Dallas, Toronto, Boston, DC, Brooklyn, NYC (MSG).....I can keep going. If Tillman wants it, HCSA will make it happen.

The only reason any board is ever interested or not interested in something it is because of their perception that something will make money or lose money.

Wouldn't exactly be hometown but I will always refuse to root for any Dallas team, which is BR's hockey market team

I've latched on to the Red Wings, Oilers, Caps, and Jets over the years, but would drop them all with the quickness if Houston got a team

i do feel like a team would work though. it would depend on how quickly it becomes competitive for long term viability though

Would need an existing team to move here. I doubt a 3rd team gets the LVGK and Seattle deals when it comes to the expansion draft.

You broached it, this is nothing more than Dallas envy from Houstonians. The taxpayers will be on the hook for Houston's hubris.
