He’s a bust. Im a heavy Duke fan and I can say RJ hasn’t shown the heart or athleticism to live up to the hype. I thinks it’s gonna be quite embarrassing! Cam Reddish will be better too.

Come on. These are exactly like NFL Preseason games, except the pseudo-basketball equivalent. They’ll appear in multiple games (except for Zion...:(. .. and just generally absorb the pro game. That’s really it.

66% FT and 30.8% 3pt at Duke

Supposedly he's hired a shooting coach to tweak his mechanics.

Hard to find a guard that shoots less than 70% FT. (Other than Lonzo Ball)

19 guards with at least 50 free throw attempts shot under 70% last season. There were 14 in 2017-2018, and 9 in 2016-2017. So it’s not that hard to find them.

And if we want to overreact to a small sample size, we could say that Zion’s 47% TS% with a +/- of -15 is troubling. That’s equivalent to getting outscored by 80 points per 48 minutes IN SUMMER LEAGUE. But it would be foolish to overreact to that, and it’s foolish to overreact to Barrett’s shooting at the point.

The thing about most busts is people laugh at you until they turn out to be busts, then they say they knew it all along.

In the 05/06 season Dallas sent Devin Harris, Josh Howard, and Marquis Daniels to their Summer League team. All three were expected to either be starting or logging heavy minutes off the bench at that point. They lost every single game. The Mavs then went to the NBA Finals. Summer League doesn't mean shite.

Derrick Rose shot 3-8 with 5 turnovers in his first summer league game while Michael Beasley had 28 points and 9 rebounds.

I didnt think he was that great at Duke last year.

If he played for Missouri, USC,etc.............you wouldnt have heard anything about him.

He had the Duke Hype Train.

Saw people comparing him to a future James Harden and I had to put this shite to rest.

That’s a bit much.

they were.

But others said he just puts his head down and cant or wont pass on his way to the hole.

Its funny.

Kawhi was the 15th pick in his class.
Jordan was #3.
Jack sikma was 8th.
Bob cousy #3
Champions.

frick it. If i get dragged through the mud, I get dragged through the mud

I'll make sure to link this thread when he goes 3-18 in an actual NBA game though

Guy can't shoot and only relies on his left hand when driving.
