That would frick the ACC pretty good I would think

Also, the Big Ten would likely take them football only if they had to.
They can do football only?

I just find it hard to believe that Nike will get left out of these big boy conferences somehow

That would probably force the SEC to add UNC and Virginia Tech. Would be the best remaining play as far as geography, brands, and media markets
You would think that Miami, Florida State, along with Clemson would be the low-hanging fruit in the ACC. This is after all really about college football.

Somebody in another thread said their states have them locked into Washington State and Oregon State.
Those rules only exist if the conference does. The PAC and ACC are about to dissolve, making all of those laws mute. The PAC and ACC are done.

Florida State? Miami? Clemson? You could even argue West Virginia over Va Tech.

It definitely is. But ive been under the assumption they have a legal agreement where if they become a full football member somewhere, it has to be with the ACC

They wont. Oregon, Washington, Stanford and ND are getting invites soon. Cant wait to see the Nike/Under Armor battles between Oregon vs Maryland.

In no way is the ACC about to disolve. Its looked in by a GOR and those are very difficult to just get out of
They need enough schools from the ACC to find a spot that is good enough to the point where they collectively feel like the conference doesnt exist. That is really difficult to have happen

Hard to imagine UNC going anywhere without Duke, and it's hard to imagine the Dukies holding their noses to join a conference they view as the academic short bus.
Things are changing, but I had always heard that SC, UGA, UK, and UF had vowed to join together to veto any vote to add their ACC rivals to the SEC. No idea if that would still hold.
I could see Virginia Tech and Baylor to the SEC happening.

Florida State? Miami? Clemson?
I guess but most moves made nowadays are with the intent of adding a new market. If the SEC wanted FSU and Clemson they probably could have had them years ago
IMO the SEC is still superior in football even if USC, UCLA, and Notre Dame are added. No conference can match 10 teams like Bama, Georgia, Auburn, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, LSU, Florida, Arkansas, and Texas A&M

Yes it is. The ACC is done..once the B1G makes its next splash, the SEC will then KILL the ACC and the conference will dissolve. Its over!!

LATimes is reporting no other Pac-12 schools are getting taking "at this time" for whatever that is worth. Certainly could still happen.

what happens if say UNC and UVA get an offer from the big 10 and FSU/Clemson get one from the SEC?
Who is left to fight the GOR? The networks ares going to want the schools to leave
That iron clad contract might not be so tough when actually challenged

Eh, keep the Pac-10 alive
Arizona
ASU
Cal
Stanford
Oregon
OSU
Wash
Wash St
Boise St.
Utah
BYU
Colorado
That's still a good conference. UCLA hasn't done shite in football in this century. 0 conference championships, 6-9 in bowl games with zero rose bowl appearances.
USC is no different than Texas, struggling to stay relevant as a power since their 2005 game.
Oregon and Stanford have been the class of the conference in football, and Washington has been more relevant than the to LA schools recently.
Eventually the Big 12 is going to dissolve and get split up and we'll just have the SEC and BIG10 as the two power conferences, and then the PAC and some form of the ACC/BigEast/American

It won’t be a power conference.
The dye is cast
If you ain’t in the mega sec or BIG10, you are a G level athletic program.

Boise State’s academics were trash - have they improved?
I don’t see them moving up

why do we keep saying this? OU left OSU, UCLA left cal, ect.
Its every man for himself now, especially for the remaining spots

Knowing Notre Dame if there is an agreement in place there is also an out for Notre Dame.
