Coach Rex Ryan has stuck with Mark Sanchez as his starting quarterback, despite the New York Jets' team's 3-6 record, saying that Sanchez gives his team the best chance to win.

According to a report, there apparently is no argument from his locker room, with more than 12 players believing Tim Tebow is not very good. Both offensive and defensive players, who remained anonymous, told the New York Daily News that they hadn't noticed improvement in Tebow's quarterback skills since he joined the Jets from the Broncos this past March.

And that Mark Sanchez has been playing great lately.

The Jets need to blow that entire offense up and start from scratch

Here is the actual article with more player quotes:

quote:

Left guard Matt Slauson, who has repeatedly supported Sanchez, made it clear that the fourth-year signal caller is the Jets’ best quarterback.

“It’s not even close,” Slauson said. “All the other quarterbacks know it. I have all the confidence in Mark. We don’t really have a choice.”

When asked about the team’s two other quarterbacks on the depth chart as possible alternatives — Tebow and Greg McElroy — Slauson clarified that the Jets really have only one other quarterback.

“We have Greg . . . and we have an athlete,” Slauson said.

But could the Jets win with Tebow as the No. 1 quarterback? “Do I have to answer that question?” a veteran starter said, shaking his head.

quote:

To most of the people in the organization, Tebow is nothing more than a specialty player who doesn’t have the requisite skills to be a true quarterback in the league. “We don’t look at him as a quarterback,” another starter said. “He’s the Wildcat guy.”

quote:

“Hell, no!” another starter said. “You got to keep defenses honest. You just can’t line up in the Wildcat all the time. That won’t work.”

quote:

But most members of the Jets don’t believe that what they saw from Tebow last season is sustainable. “We can’t win running that sh--,” one player said.

quote:

“Now we’re depending on miracles?” a member of the organization said. “You can’t play that way.”

quote:

So, who wants Tebow to be the starter? “Nobody,” a member of the team said.

Once again, what game were these guys watching when Tebow beat them last year?? Were they watching the playoff game vs the Steelers? They should have been, because they were sitting at home.

I'm not saying that Tebow is perfect, but it's obvious that the quarterback position has been holding the Jets back the last few years, and none of those dudes want to try someone else? They deserve to lose.

They sound bitter. I want Tebow to get another shot.

I hope they lose every game they play now. Wanting Mark Sanchez to play is idiotic.

Compared to the other options on their roster, he is.

I wonder if they've ever considered that they also suck at their positions. You know, Tebow isn't the one actually playing. They are the ones who are on the field bringing in the Ls.
