Can you name the last time ND was “run out of the stadium” by a team with a pulse?

How bout they play somebody with half a pulse?

How bout they drop their idiotic agreement with the ACC?

They went from playing one of toughest schedules year in and year out to this bullshite excuse of a schedule. Where's USC? Michigan? Random SEC school? How bout you go home/home w/Indiana?

Notre Dame is too scared to play anyone of relevance.

This is the epitome of irony from a UGA fan, given Monroe Freeling should be an amusement park attendee for the turnstile he was in the Sugar Bowl, but okay…

Outstanding question. Ask them.

Arkansas in Fayetteville last year, as this entire board bitches about the “SEC grind” because a dogshit team like Arkansas last year can compete against Texas in Austin, LSU in BR, Ole Miss in Oxford, but was made to look like an FCS team in Fayetteville by ND… Auburn home-and-home next couple of years and Bama after that.

On page 1, “Miami will steamroll ND in a few weeks” currently has 8 upvotes, 0 downvotes. We will beat Miami on 11/07. The MSECB will claim it’s not a legitimate win. That’s how this board/site works.

Really? How bout you drop your 1/2 conference affiliation which REQUIRES you guys to play 4 ACC teams? You'll have plenty of room on your schedule for the USC's and Michigan's of the world

I'd say Monroe's doing pretty damn good for himself since he was taken in the 1st rd (19th pick)last spring.

You realize USC was the one that backed out of the ND series. ND tried to schedule USC. Just like they scheduled Wisconsin when Wisconsin was pretty good, now they're not.

Schedule Michigan, awesome, do it. They look really good this year.

Without getting into the broader pissing match, USC effectively backed out of the series because Lincoln Riley is a bitch and they had lost 7 of 8 leading into their cancellation. I am sure some dimwitted SC fan will come on here and yell "NUH UH" but their "counter-offer" to our offer of keeping the series going as normal (mid October in South Bend, Thanksgiving weekend in LA) for the last fifty-plus years was a last minute offer to play us in week 0 in Mexico City (an offer they knew we nor anyone with half a brain would ever take).

A lot of old school SC fans are pretty pissed at their AD. Nonetheless, the series is set to revive in a few years (likely when Bitch Lincoln will be long gone).

Indiana backed out of our series with them (just as they've done with just about any other series they had scheduled with a P4 program) because Cignetti schedules like a bitch out of conference.

You won't find many ND fans happy about this year's schedule (and I would bet Freeman and Bevacqua would be the first to tell you they want tougher schedules), and it's largely the last remnant of the Kelly / Swarbrick regime trying to schedule their way to a soft 10 - 11 wins a year.

But we have upcoming series (largely scheduled by Bevacqua and since Freeman became HC) with Auburn, Alabama, Texas, OSU, Florida, and Michigan. SC gets back on the schedule in 2030. We have a 12 year agreement to play Clemson every single year starting next year (though who knows how the hell that will unfold with how bad they've looked). In 2028 we play Texas, Auburn, Clemson, and Miami and have some solid mid-level games against teams like Arkansas, Pitt, and VT. It starts getting much better starting next year.

As for the ACC thing, you won't find many ND people that particularly like it but they are the only P4 teams that will consistently play us in October and November at this point. The timing has been pretty shitty since that deal was inked as FSU and then Clemson have both completely tanked as programs and what were solid mid-tier or upper mid-tier programs like VT, Pitt, GT, etc. have largely done absolutely squat in the new college football environment.

Hopefully Texas doesn’t Chicken Out of the home and home series with ND in 2028 and 2029 as Sark has mentioned…..

Doesn’t matter. They’re bitching we’re not playing USC. When they cancelled on us. When we’re 7-1 against them in the last 8. When we went 10-2 last year and had a 10-pt win over them, yet it wasn’t enough to get us into the 12-team field. Now, we’re all of a sudden soft because (by their choice) they’re not on the schedule (even though we immediately replaced them with at BYU).

“Why aren’t you playing Michigan??” That’s the question because we’re not playing them. If they were on the schedule, it’d be making fun that one of our opponents cheated to beat WMU.

People hate ND. Nobody’s rational when it comes to ND. They don’t care about facts, only feelings. And, of most irony, they hate coverage of us, when it’s threads like these for why such coverage exists.

Optics-wise, probably. ND could join the ACC and schedule an FCS team OOC, and low-IQ ppl would be satisfied probably. TTU has a worse schedule this year. Miami has a worse schedule this year. No one cares or mentions it.

Although it’s hard to know if that’s because they’re in a conference (as if that magically makes Wake Forest an elite opponent) or they’re just not “Notre Dame”.

Yep. They'll never do it but rankings shouldn't even be a thing until at least week 4 or 5.

Well the only ranking that matters isn't a thing until like week 9-10

Same reason FEI and advanced analytics aren’t useful until at least week three: there aren’t enough comparative datapoints to be able to actually rate the teams objectively.
