Coach K made a statement saying he was in good academic standing, is expected to finish semester, but didn't do what was needed to represent Duke. Wonder what he did? Inconsistent player but he could provide instant offense off the bench when he was on. Rough loss for Duke.

Can't imagine anything other than failed drug tests. Don't think a guy has been kicked off the team midseason since Andre Sweet. Very weird situation.

yeah it seems like that has to be it. what else could have happened or been discovered basically today? since he played last night, there has to be something that happened today or at least was found out today.

Rasheed Sulaimon dismissed, Semi Ojeleye transferred earlier this season, and suddenly Grayson Allen will be thrust into the rotation.
Allen is a talented prospect and should fill in admirably after getting his feet wet a bit more, but Duke is in serious trouble if anyone goes down with injury.

This came to mind for me, too. Wonder if he had trouble fulfilling certain team obligations expected out of Duke players and was dismissed after being given a number of chances.

Even at that you usually don't see guys like that cut loose until the end of the season.
Tend to think it's off the court trouble either in the classroom or as others have said a failed piss test.

I doubt it is a failed drug test. He would have been suspended before for it. I seriously doubt they have a 1 failed test and out policy

That's nuts. Has to be failed tests or multiple issues off the court with a final incident last night after the game. Enjoyed sulaimon at duke, thought he was going to be great when he had a really good stretch his freshman year.

Could be drugs, but the article did say he was in good academic standing and will finish the semester at Duke.

That shot and that game were nuts. Sulaimon was a quality bench player and if nothing else, they'll miss the depth.
