He was pretty meh anyway.

If by pretty meh, you mean their best bench player... Duke is fricked. I wonder what happened. He's had noted emotional/maturity issues, so I wonder if he caused a scene in the locker room after last night's game. At the same time, he took the last shot of the game so it's not like he was on the bench.

I doubt it is a failed drug test. He would have been suspended before for it. I seriously doubt they have a 1 failed test and out policy

Kids fail drug tests on teams all the time and a lot of the time the media/public doesn't find out about it until it becomes a punishable offense. Especially if it's within the school policy and not a post-season/offseason NCAA testing deal.

A lot of the time it's that good ol' "violation of team rules" bit.

@SethDavisHoops Coach K has tossed Sulaimon from practice a few times this season. Sulaimon played 12 mins, shot 1-6 fg in loss to NDame.

Then he must've really lost his shite last night for K to cut him loose in the middle of a potential championship season.

Odd, I thought Cal was supposed to be the one to have issues keeping all of these talented player's egos in check....

Or he could be a "cancer" in the locker room.

I'm 99% sure that Coach K and Duke wouldn't dismiss somebody for disrupting locker room chemistry . And besides, this team has plenty of chemistry. I'm not going to speculate, but Sheed's situation is obviously a lot different from Andre Dawkins' sabbatical a couple of years ago. I wish Sheed the best, and I'll always remember his time at Duke.

On the plus side, IT'S GRAYSON TIME.

No one has ever said that. The only knock on Calipari has been that he pretty much just rolls the ball out there.

It's also a retarded statement because the only other player I can think of that got dismissed in Coach K's 40 year career is Patrick Davidson.

So you missed all those "How will Cal handle the egos?" articles?

I'm not going to turn this into a UK vs. Duke thread though. I am interested in seeing what this does for guys coming off the bench for Duke obviously.

The scrub who started the epic Wake Forest game solely to harass Chris Paul? I didn't know he got dismissed. What happened there?

Those were just questioning how Calipari would handle the egos, not criticizing.

Well I'd think questioning would suggest that there's the potential that he couldn't.

The former McDonald's All-American had been given several warnings, but Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski's patience with the talented wing had run its course and he jettisoned Sulaimon on Thursday afternoon. "It was an accumulation of a whole lot of residue," one source close to the Duke program told ESPN. "It had built up over time." "His issues didn't outweigh his talent," he added.

Pat was a really nice guy and one of Coach K's favorite walk-ons of all time, but you can only test
Positive for a drug that stays in your system for three days so many times.

Makes me wonder if it was something similar with Sulaimon.

Doubtful, from the reports i'm reading. I think it was purely emotional/maturity with Rasheed. You could see it on the court. He can't control his emotions. I think they'll really need Winslow to step up. He had a good game last night, but he's been invisible since conference play started.

Yeah, he stayed all four years. Actually so did Pat but he was just a regular student the last 2 years. Think he married some really rich girl from CT

It would blow my mind if he was kicked off the team for anything less than failing a hard drug test or physically striking a coach or non-provoking teammate.
