“Police are looking for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice in connection with a major accident Saturday evening in northeast Dallas, law enforcement officials confirmed to The Dallas Morning News.

A vehicle believed to be registered or leased to Rice was involved in a crash on North Central Expressway at about 6:20 p.m., officials told The News. The law enforcement officials said that police are looking for Rice, and a police call sheet obtained by The News confirmed that law enforcement officials were searching for him in connection with the accident.”

Will plead no contest, pay a fine, serve some community service because he was probably drinking and after the accident he ran.

Sounds like a hit and run, which is a lower-level misdemeanor. Did someone die and it just wasn't included in OP?

Should be mandatory jail time, we’re too damn soft on the POS in our society

We are already over-criminalized in America. To start adding mandatory jail time to lower-level misdemeanor property crimes would be insanity.

Strongly disagree. If you cause an accident, which could cause injury or worse, then leave, your arse should be punished.

is a hit and run low level? if someone is injured, or if the driver was impaired, or driving 100 in a residential, it's not just a property crime.

Hit and run with injuries is a class B felony in Dallas. The rumor is that somebody is in the hospital from this crash.

In our over-criminalization? I mean that pre-dates even my shift away from liberalism, so the 90s?

Then that would change the discussion. OP was posted too soon for such dramatic language.
