how does one become 2 billion off their estimates?
I wish it worked both ways too.
"Rams estimated the stadium would cost $2.3B, but total costs came in at only $300MM."

So you pay $100k for the seat license, just for the right to buy $375 tickets for each game.
is this real life?

Going to be basically 100% corporate tickets
Cause that's how you develop fan support.

Building in LA is expensive as shite even in relatively open, crappy areas.
Yeah, but they knew that when they projected the original cost. It's not like the said it would be $2B, then realized it was in LA.

For 8 games per season.
Baseball parks should be aesthetically pleasing and family friendly. Football stadiums should be bare bones and maximize capacity.

The Chargers are the REAL winners in this deal.
If they are only servicing a part of the debt that means they are getting a brand new stadium at a fraction of the cost that the Rams are paying.

I guess this is how you force the NFL to stay in Los Angeles.

The Rams did this when they opened the Dome as well

sounds like that's for the luxury boxes if I'm reading that right. The regular seats look like they're $1000 a seat which is fairly comparable to college athletic foundation dues

Private or tax dollars?
In the end, the Mayor 3 terms down, will realize they got fricked in the arse by Stan.
They are claiming no money, but Stan doesn't build shite for free, there will be tax cuts, tax breaks, that will be uncovered in 5-10 years and LA will end up paying for almost all of it, in the end.
Dirty Stan doesn't build anything for free. He always gets tax breaks, tif cash, etc to build anything around the country(he builds all wal marts and leases to wal mart)

Kroenke’s investment “is unprecedented,” a banker told Sports Business Journal.
Jerry spent something like $750 million of his own money on Cowboys Stadium and would have been on the hook for just as much as SK if the cost overrunns had gone as high as they are for this boondoggle of a stadium.

NFL teams are more worried about making money than fan support at games. They don't make their money on the cheap seats.

Sounds like that's half as much as what Kroenke is paying from his own money which is crazy

Yea, I should not post before I'm done w/the post. It's a bad habit.
Anyway, I was trying to say Jerry paid 2/3 of the stadium and would have had to pay similar to what SK is paying too if Cowboys Stadium costs had shot up like they are for the one in LA.

as long as the stadium doesn't look as bad as the 49ers, for $1.3B it shouldn't look this cheap
Posted on 5/17/18 at 12:02 pm to SPEEDY
I mean it is for two teams so I could see it being slightly more expensive than normal, but $4 bill seems excessive. (Plus the Chargers will move back to San Diego sometime soon).

And they won't even seat it all.
