Yeah they act is if he just shows up on the first day of Training Camp and the GM says: "Here's your roster. Good luck."

Almost all coaches have signficant say in FA and draft, and one with his tenure would have much more so.

Plenty of coaches get served a shite sandwich, are there any other active coaches who have four consecutive losing seasons with their team?

Since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, only one coach, Cincinnati’s David Shula (1992-1996), was given a fifth season after enduring four straight losing records. And Shula lasted only seven games into that fifth season.

I think Jason Garrett is an 'okay' coach, but he certainly hasn't been helped by having no quarterback or defense in his time at the helm.

This is insane. Can't believe they didn't fire him with the move to LA

Kroenke ain't spending for a good coach until his new stadium opens in 2019.

For now, Rams fans can enjoy watching a shithole coach lead a shithole team during home games in the shithole Coliseum.

At least Garrett has had Romo. Fisher has never had a good QB once McNair left. Actually it's surprising he's done as well as he has.

You don't think that at some point, the buck stops with him going 10+ yrs without a QB?

Nope. Fisher has absolutely no say in who his team drafts. Like another poster says, he shows up for training camp and gets presented with his team.

And then, according to the MSB's logic, his GM goes rogue and gives away the store to trade up for a QB that's not even good enough to be active on game day.

A great coach being hammered with bad luck.

Fisher's 157 losses are third-most in NFL history among head coaches, and he is nine defeats from setting the all-time record.

So he also has 157 wins?

The NFL is cruel that way. What rotten luck. It must be torture for Jeff when people give him a box of chocolates. He ALWAYS gets coconut!

An extension doesn't necessarily mean a better deal for Fisher. In fact, it could be worse depending on the terms of the buyout.

"Hey Jeff. Here are all the ingredients for a delicious piece of caramel chocolate candy. See if you can develop those ingredients into a delicious piece of caramel chocolate."

Nope. Always ends up with coconut.

He's had 10 seasons where he's been .500 or 1 game under .500. He's had 6 seasons where he's gone 10-6 or better. And he's had 4 seasons where his teams were poor with a record of 6-10 or worse.

Or you could put it in more reasonable terms. He's had 5 seasons at 8-8, 6 winning seasons, and 9 losing seasons.

Now, you can commend him for having more 10+ win seasons than he has 10+ loss seasons, but in 20 seasons he's 14th in total wins, and 141st in winning percentage.
