QB’s sliding “giving themselves up”

I’vealways been neutral on this ruling, but now I’ve decided that if you take off pass line scrimmage as a runner- there is no “giving yourself up-slide”.
The defense is there to stop you but now have to decide to hit or to hold up just because a QB decided to switch positions mid play?
Now if in the pocket- they need protection, because they a vulnerable when throwing.

Agree…qb’s use it now as an advantage. They should be able to knock the frick out of them if they decide to run

Especially after Allen fake slides earlier in the game and got an extra 20 yards

Any player can give himself up the problem is that QBs wait until the very last second to do it.
Should modify the rule to force QBs to make the decision when they're in more open space.

Another stupid rule to protect the QB and penalize the defense for doing what you were taught to do since pee wee league. Tackle the ball carrier

Everyone likes to be mad about the sport getting "soft" and throwing flags on stupid shite and while I totally get it, I also think the sport is significantly less fun to watch when good QBs are hurt so I get why they do it

It’s a snowball that they can’t stop. They changed the rules so much to increase scoring that the QB is too critical for success. Can’t win without a good one.
So then, must protect the QB to ensure competitive games. So more protection rules that hinder defenses. Which increases scoring.

If I'm the DC I'm telling my guys to commit to tackling the QB. I'll take the penalty. Maybe then they won't try to do the fake slide juke BS.

Quarterbacks should have to wear dresses since they are like women and you can't hit them. Make them bright pink dresses so everyone will see them and not hurt them.
