It was, until Georgia beat TCU 65-7 a week after LSU’s 63-7 win over Purdue

Ah, thanks!

It’s a decent debate. UVA was number 1 overall and blown out. Purdue was 4 and was close.

But, I assume UMBC was probably better than FDU who got in on a technicality

I’m guessing FDU is the worst team to win a tourney game by any metric

No one really thought Purdue was that good, they just had Edey at 7’4. Virginia got blasted by twenty points…twenty points. They take the cake for the worst loss ever.

Virginia is worse. They were the #1 overall seed and tournament favorite and got blown out.

Purdue was like the 4th #1 seed selected and only by default for winning the Big10 tournament beating NCAA #10 seed Penn State by 2 points.

Damn, that's probably a pretty accurate statement.

They're the shortest team, not only in the tourney, but the entire NCAA, averaging 6'3". Their tallest player is 6'6".

I agree. In the end you can’t really top the No. 1 seed getting blown out. Yes, people doubted Purdue but they were the big 10 regular season and tourney champs and No. 1 seed. Solid second upset ever

And, thanks to LSU, aren’t they also tied for worst Bowl game loss, as well?

They were for about a week, until Georgia gave that crown to TCU.

Uva was missing their best nba ready player; FDU made the tournament on a technicality.

Purdue was far, far worse.

FDU wasn't even top 300 in KenPom. At least UMBC was top 200 and actually won their conference tournament.
