The way the Stats have been playing, I expected them to get run out of the AA this weekend. But the fact they stepped up their D gives me hope they can make a little run in the playoffs.

I think Tarasenko literally losing an arm would have made national news beyond the sports broadcast. And the Blues got away with tackling a Stars player by the boards without a penalty called. They have no room to complain about a ref conspiracy.

Stars were outshooting the Blues most of the night, yet ironically came back as soon as the Blues started winning the shot war. Thought the regulation draw was a fair result.

Oh, and how can you have a five best Russians of the past 10 tears and not include Datsyuk?

You're right. Lol, drunken oversight on my part.

Add Datsyuk, bump out Tarasenko/Kuz for now.

I'm rooting for either Detroit or Philly to be the 8 seed. Which puts me in the uncomfortable position of tepidly pulling for the Penguins.

On the best Russians thing, I view Kovalchuk a lot like Semin. A terrific player and gifted goal scorer who you never ever EVER want to play for your team. In the end, he's a cancer. I'd take both Tarasenko and Kuznetsov over Kovalchuk, despite his far better numbers.

Another huge win for the Pens as they take down the Isles in SO. Now 3 points up on Detroit for top WC spot, +2 in ROW, with a game in hand.

The Kings took care of business pretty easily on their 2-game stint (5-0 over Chicago and 5-2 over Dallas). With that 3-team battle in the Central people may be overlooking them in the West.

(It's also fun to call them the Kings of Nothing--at Stars games they play Metallica's King Nothing when they're in town)

I've resigned myself to accepting that the playoff streak is over. It doesn't matter as getting pounded by the Caps wouldn't be much fun, anyway. I'll guess I'll jump on the Caps wagon for now. But really, anybody but Chicago. I'd even root for Hog's band of nancies if it came to it.

Welcome aboard! I'm still rooting for you, just out of respect for the Red Wings streak and general hatred of the Flyers. Though, admittedly, it would be more satisfying to play the Flyers in the first round because Phuck Philly. But the few optimistic Caps fans have mapped out the perfect "revenge tour" postseason, and it would start with beating the Wings in the 1st round to avenge our only Cup finals loss. I think that's getting way ahead of ourselves (BTW - the rest of the revenge tour would by the Rangers, the Penguins in the ECF, and then the Preds or Ducks in the Finals, depending on how hung up on Forsberg you are).

Still, we welcome fans of all stripes, as we are a multinational coalition anyway. Besides, we're fun. Let's stop the dour Hawks and Kings, enemies of joy.

Sooo... potential expansion and the "redistribution" of players. Thoughts?

One goalie, seven forwards, and three defensemen; or
One goalie and eight skaters of any stripe.
