Offensive football penalties can't be added on to the end of the play, defensive ones can
ETA however some penalties are assessed from the spot of the foul

Maybe not so much in hockey, but you do understand that the offside rule exists in soccer to prevent teams from having a dude stand right beside the opponent’s goalkeeper and just launch bombs to him every time they get possession of the ball, right? Strategy would pretty well cease to exist without it.

That apparently the pitcher's rubber is not part of the playing field.
Rule 2.00, “A batted ball not touched by a fielder, which hits the pitcher’s rubber and rebounds into foul territory, between home and first, or between home and third base is a foul ball.”

The play where a player lays out of bounds on a kickoff and by touching the ball, draws an out of bounds kickoff that puts it at the 35 or wherever they put it.

I’m not sure what you’re confused about any ball that isn’t touched and goes foul before passing a base is a foul ball even if it started in the field of play

There is no reason in the world that a Defensive Back/player should have to locate the ball. Also, they should be able to face shield. If a DB runs around with his eyes closed and arms waving everywhere and by chance breaks up a pass, then good on him.
And, I’ve seen QBs hit receivers in the back and no flags were thrown.

Each out needs a “put out” by a fielder. A lot of outs also have an “assist”. On a strike out the pitcher gets an assist and the catcher gets a put out. This goes on the fielding percentage. On a strike out, if a pitcher throws it in the dirt, it effectively becomes a ground ball. The catcher fields it, gets an assist, and the 1B man gets the put out.
I like a lot of your responses to lsuau but I will never get behind the end zone fumble BS. I’m a defense guy and I think a turnover in this situation is not merited.

Smalls- You are a smart individual. Dont let the old heads on here bring u down. I always preach the same things - in particular about uniform ballparks in mlb
How does the sport that relies so much on stats- have so much variability from park to park. Providing unfair advantages depending on where you play half your games. Makes no sense.

helmet to helmet penalties only being called as a defensive infraction even if the offensive player lowers their helmet causing the helmet to helmet play

Defensive is automatic first down, which is stupid.
Well, they grab a reciever because they are beat. That's holding, not PI.
So they only give you 5, but the 1st down keeps the D honest

By that logic the infield dirt and grass aren’t part of the playing field either because if it takes a weird bounce off of any of these surfaces and goes foul between home and first or home and third it’s a foul ball as well. The rule makes perfect sense because the rubber is treated exactly the same as every other part of the infield playing surface.

In basketball and football, being allowed to call a timeout only to ice a kicker or free throw shooter.
Timeouts should only be used used for things like regrouping your team, stopping the clock, avoiding delay of game, personnel changes, etc.. Things that affect YOUR team's performance. Not dick moves that only affect your opponent.

Not that anyone on this board cares, but major soccer tourneys (World Cup, Champions League) finals or knockouts being decided by penalty kicks after the game ends tied is dumb.
