There’s a reason that he has pride in his name

Aren’t Fischer and Doyle both on their third college teams in their career? You think they care more about Tenn than themselves? Lol

Yes. I think those dudes love Vitello and fight like hell. Ask ole Miss fans if Fischer played anything like this for them
You can see it with guys and Jay Johnson too. He goes about it a different way but his players love him.

I mean the dude had 20 hrs and was voted second team all SEC as a sophomore for Ole Miss. He has 4 more HRs in a more hitter friendly park especially for a lefty. We’ll have to agree to disagree.

Seeing him and Fischer do well shows they would’ve never reached those heights under Bianco

Doyle throwing 31 pitches on his bullpen day isn’t the heroic act you’re making it out to be.

It doesn’t make him a hero, but what eyanson and Doyle did is putting team above themselves. When we have guys in football completely sitting out real games to not ruin their stock, I think it’s kinda cool we have guys that are first round starters in baseball throwing relief on two days rest
I think it’s awesome and should be celebrated

I’m as tired of the me-first stuff as anyone, but these guys weren’t risking anything. They were going to throw Monday regardless. That’s my only point.
ETA- and Tacky is dumb af arguing it would help his draft stock.

You have to remember, Pride just started watching baseball on Friday so he wasn’t aware of bullpen days
He’s already an expert though

Football players sit out and people agree with it because the risk of injury even though they have had three weeks off
You take a natural risk every-time you take the mound the same way football has an inherent risk. Coming back to throw relief two days later absolutely increases that risk, and it isn’t something all players would do
Yes, it would be a standard bullpen session, so it makes it a possibility for the coach to do it without being an arm ruiner. But it’s absolutely a team first move what guys like Doyle and eyanson did

You’re delusional if you think any of these players worh a major league future would chose the betterment of the team or Vitello over themselves. That’s just flat out one of the worst takes there’s ever been on this website lol

You keep saying this but it’s not true lol.
If you told these guys, “hey if you go pitch tonight, there’s a 50/50 chance you’ll get a serious injury” none of them are doing it lol
Posted on 6/3/25 at 8:24 am to TackySweater
What Doyle and Eyanson did last night had zero betterment for them. None. Zilch
The best thing for them 100% is actually the season to just be over. There is nothing positive for them remaining in their mlb future, only negatives.
They both however pitched on short rest as relievers to help the team.
Everything above is 100% facts

Every action that players take can be seen as a move “for the team”
You’re arguing something that’s been around in sports for centuries lol

“Helping the team” by pitching 30 pitches isn’t some “OMG he loves his team and his coach more than himself!!!”
Again, if a team doc on the staff told them “hey we don’t think you should pitch again tonight but you can if you want” then they aren’t making the decision to pitch lol
This is delusion at the highest level lol

This is delusion at the highest level lol

The only think scouts are watching with Doyle or any top pitcher right now is to make sure they don’t get injured. That’s it. There is no movement to be made by his performances one way or the other

Someone who says something like this is either trolling or just ignorant lol
Teams may move him slightly up the board for being gutsy/a gamer, but a relief appearance from a player that already pitched and has multiple years of tape isn't moving the needle. MLB doesn't care about college, much less college playoffs.

They used to have their damn draft before Omaha
