This ownership group already owns the Thorns (woman's soccer). Either Petals or Roses would be a no brainer, and it would be easy to make the Rose look spooky and thorny in the logo. Would also easily lend itself to a cool basketball / rose petal logo.
Nearly every Portland area homeowner boasts at least one rose bush (I have 12 myself). It's a marker of true civic pride for us.

Apparently Portland had a WNBA team years ago, the Portland Fire. So I'm thinking they probably go back to that.
