ust move up or down the teams that need to be moved up or down based on competitiveness
Wasn't it like this year's ago, then the 5A and 4A schools cried about little Evangel and Curtis being too good and they should be in the class associated with their school size. Then they won every 2A title and those guys got pissy. Then they split.
They should treat the divisions like European country soccer leagues. Let teams move up that are good, and let the crappy ones move down. Riverside and Madison prep would stop winning worthless class b titles.

That was proposed, as was the idea of a "Super Class" open to any larger or consistently superior schools. But once the split was passed for the other sports, this past January, all other ideas were removed.

I'll keep hammering this point until someone listens:
Classifying by enrollment is as outdated as the telegraph

Classifying by enrollment/sending Evangel and Curtis down wasn't about competitiveness. It was about trying to bankrupt Evangel. They were bankrolling their school by playing 5A schools with big fanbases. They would bring 500-1000 people and split the money with 5-6K in attendance. They played a regular season game against WM in Independence Stadium in front of 34K. The thought was to make them play in front of smaller crowds/make less money. Also they thought a small title wouldn't be as appealing to recruits. It's honestly worked. Evangel is a shell of their 90's/early 00's selves.

Super Class would have solved all.

but not because of that - because the booty tribe left and went to CBA---.. meanwhile it caused massive bad blood which has us where we are now.

Firing Booty was the dumbest thing Evangel ever did. Calvary is basically early Evangel now.

I don't care what the motivations were - classifying teams for athletic competition based on school enrollment is completely asinine.
If you really want to do it right, classification should be done based on an athletic program's participation rate, resources, and history of success.

is it not a good general rough guide? especially in football. you can count on one hand the 1A schools that attempt to play 5A competition regularly, let alone beat them
but yeah it did come from a different time and place...

How long until Calvary starts rolling like late 90s Evangel?

Would you average that across all sports?

They would've went back to back if Shea didn't leave.

So is this like the old LISA league?

Calvary did go back to back. They could have 3 peated if Shea Patterson had stayed.

WM is not sharing anything
They enjoy being a big fish in a small pond and being the benefactor of top talent moving into their district on an annual basis.

I'm not sure how you do that.

Actually not the case. They opened up the parish and you can go wherever you want as long as it's your freshman year. Neville and Ouachita are the ones pulling all of the talent, even a lot out of WM. Neville's QB went to WM feeders in elementary and middle school. OCS takes several every year too.
