Never heard of the source

It's Tim Fletcher. He's a sports journalist in Shreveport and usually know his stuff. I have no idea who his source is though.

@FletcherShow:$15,000 entry fee per school to join new athletic association according to source

@FletcherShow: The new high school athletic association already has a commissioner---this really does appear to be more than a drill

Is this a hard limit, or are there 60 that are already signed up?

I'm sure only 10-12 are in line to join now. I heard this being talked about on the radio a few weeks ago.

So this new association is operating like the Vegas 16? First 60 schools with the $15,000 are in? Hmm, I don't know about that strategy.

I don't think the Sugar Bowl can sponsor the championship games in this new association, so that's probably what the money is for. Oh, and for refs and marketing of course

Privates, at the least, are going to have to join, Who would they play in the playoffs if they stayed in LHSAA?

I will laugh so hard if Curtis stays behind, (I don't think they will).

It looks like this won't move forward at this time unless there are at least 60 teams that join.

As of now? Private schools in the select brackets of the LHSAA. No one has to join this new offering, but they just might.

Unless this is to announce that they have reached the 60 team goal already. If all of the select schools that play football join, then it's either met the goal or is pretty close.

A source said the email was sent to see just how many schools would entertain breaking off from the LHSAA.
However, one point seems clear.
“You can’t do this without Catholic schools,” said one source.

Good the split was the dumbest thing since soccer.

I meant if the association is truly formed. There won't be enough privates left behind to stay in LHSAA even if they wanted to. Well, they could and just be placed automatically in the championship game.
