The irony here is that leftists would LOVE to destroy sports in every way, shape, manner, and form. The idea of competition is something they hate, hence the "participation trophy" crap that started decades ago.
Once leftists get ahold of something, they will kill it. As a former lefty, I know this better than anyone.
They are about to destroy women's sports by allowing men to compete, but remember, the right is the group with the "war on women".
I could go on and on for days on this topic. Honestly, I think it is fun to watch these athletes embrace their demise without realizing it.

mid 2000’s back. It’s not THAT long ago.
That’s 15-16 years ago. Do you think the world, not just sports, was the same in 1984 as it was in 1969, or 2001 was no different than 1986? Mid 2000’s was THAT long ago.

I.E., not politics.
That certainly started a lot of political wars.

do you mean the national anthem?

I don't see an end anytime soon, which means my sports watching will continue to be extremely low. Sports has traditionally served as a fun diversion for me. As soon as they started saturating it with woke shite, it's no longer a fun diversion, therefore I don't feel compelled to watch.

There’s a healthy love for the country, and then there’s nationalism. People with an insane allegiance to the flag and anthem over the last several years has moved towards the latter.

Mind pointing out what's wrong with the below?

identification with one's own nation and support for its interests, especially to the exclusion or detriment of the interests of other nations.

Part of that means that you’re not going to be critical of your own country, even when it’s necessary to do so.

quote:When was God Bless America ever a partisan issue? National anthem before games was pretty much universally respected and enjoyed by everyone until Kaepernick turned it into a point of protest. Did you think it was political for the Olympics to play the gold medalist’s national anthem? I always thought it was a source of national pride, whether it was the US anthem or any other country’s
You have been okay with politics in sports for decades. You LOVE those God Bless America Patriotic Rallies that we have before NFL games every week. You just don't want "their" politics in sports. And if you don't know who "they" are, ask TigerChief10.

The politics in sports isn't a problem, it's the uniformed politics in sports that's a problem. This shite with GA Voting laws is a perfect example. I can assure you, no person who has actually read the bill thinks it is restrictive to voters unless they have a learning disability. The shite with Jacob Blake is legitimately just trying to create a narrative, there was no wrong doing.
If people in sports would make a legitimate cause where they are needed and not comment on the shite that isn't necessary, it would be much more tolerable.

Thanks CP3LSU25. Just doing my part to have conversations. You know, the things we should all be doing to resolve issues.

None of the garbage you typed above has any objective truth to it. What does healthy love for the country and nationalism mean to you? I guarantee it means something different to someone else. To me, standing, not kneeling, for the flag and the national anthem is the bare minimum amount of respect that can be shown to this country. Stand up for the country you're a citizen of, it's not a difficult thing to do.
