Settle the frick down.. it’s a day game in the middle of a work week in the middle of a workday afternoon - plus school just got out and families are on vacation outside of Pittsburgh

Pitt has great fans that adore that team and to think that a shithole like New Orleans could support a MLB team is ridiculous

I’ve read some dumb shite on here but this may be tops.

I was only born and raised there and lived 35 years of my life there. I guess what the hell would I know?

The Pirates had been a solid team for over 80 years and won 8 World Series titles before the Steelers ever showed any signs of life. They were the prominent sports team of the town. Post ‘93 things changed drastically with the terrible ownership that took over in ‘95.

You're out of your goddamned mind.

My entire family is from Western PA and I can say with absolute certainty that Pirate fans are very passionate and knowledgeable. It's not their fault that Nutting is an absolute boob who has no business owning a team.

MLB needs to start forcing the sale of a few franchises. For the good of the game.

The Pirates currently have an active payroll of less than $80 million. Why should the fans support give over money for that kind of shite?

Another thread where an LSU football fan has started watching professional baseball.

I was wondering why the OP thought it was a big deal that Skenes was pitching.

He probably also became a big Bengals fan around the same time my dad did.

The city cannot support the Pels for 41 home games, muchless 81 in the heat. Not sure why many here think NOLA is some sort of rich city. Remember, the saying "We can't have nice things" is referring to that dump.

The inaugural year when it's the shiny new toy in town maybe. But then they would be a poverty team in a league with no salary cap and there isn't enough money in town for people to get tickets to the Saints, Pels, and hypothetical MLB team, people are going to support the Saints while the other 2 fall by the wayside. Quite frankly I wonder how long the Pels will still be here.

Don't forget to add LSU to your list.
