Illegal hands to the face by the receiver prior to the contact that was flagged.
Just close this thread now. They have no response for what you posted. It actually should be a personal foul facemask penalty

they picked it up when one of the refs mentioned the missed blatant facemask/illegal hands by Pettigrew.

Then they should have called off-setting penalties and repeated the down.

As it was (non-)called, Detroit got fricked with a loss of down.

This has nothing to do with a flag that wasn't thrown.. They actually threw the flag and correctly so for PI.. The problem is them picking it up so late and with zero explanation.. I personally hate bad officiating as do most sane people.. It's also highlights a problem of using jumbled crews during the playoffs... The NFL spends mucho time and money fostering a team atmosphere within the differing crews to only blow it up during the playoffs...

And to your stupid point.. In your fantasy land of calls that didn't happen, Dez should've been called for haviing his helmet off on the field..a 15 yd dead ball foul that wouldn't have been offset.

Ok, it was a bad call like i said. Where are all the other threads for the other bad calls?

This thread is directly related to the fact that a flag was thrown and a call made only to be reversed well after the fact... A rarity to say the least.. Most games have a bad call and all games have bad no calls but what we had here was an oddity with the way it was handled, to players on the field and the importance of the situation within the game...

Even the smallest brain ought to be able to figure out the difference between a non-call and a call followed by picking up the flag.

A bad call is a bad call. The circus that surrounds it doesnt really matter

i thought it was pass interference.

I mean they've flagged players for less this year.

I'm looking for the flag a lot more than I'd like to as a fan.

but picking it up was a highly sketchy move in my opinion.

but I don't think it decided the game like some want to believe it did.

@MikePereira: I am out of here. Biggest call was the DPI pickup. It was DPI and it was defensive holding as well. Not good. Flying back to Sac tonight.

That's awfully shortsighted. A call that is reversed after the fact, when it should've indeed been a penalty, is much more egregious than a simple missed call. Missed calls happen, refs are human. But reversing a call makes one wonder if there is an agenda.

Yet we take Pereria as gospel but he also writes articles saying SEC refs are talking to league office in game.

He is a hack and shrill.

He has a bigger agenda than most.

Cowboys fans are funny. Instead of admitting the bad call and enjoying their first playoff win in forever, they try to justify it and turn into the insufferable self righteous group that made everyone hate the Cowboys in the first place. Someone created a 'melt' thread? Are some of you all in middle school?

Not to mention the NON flag on Brayant for going halfway onto the field without his helmet....

I guess they just ignored this....

Sorry but the game was rigged for the simple fact that the NFL and FOX wanted Dallas @ Green Bay... They were told to make sure Dallas wins....

That's the only way to look at it...

I hate Dallas....but if refs would have gotten together and picked up flag without the PI announcement, this wouldn't be a shitstorm. They could have explained it as faceguarding, which is not a foul in the NFL.
Bryant on the field, however, is a penalty and can not be ignored. Should have been a Detroit 1st down either way. They blew it bad.

Fmr ref Gerry Austin says they would hardly ever call a15 yd penalty for coming off the bench (especially in the playoffs) as long as the player retreats to the sideline which is what Dez did in that situation. Morelli fricked up announcing the penalty before talking to the other refs.

Then why in the blue frick did Dallas have more penalties? Then why in the blue frick did they call a questionable holding that brought back a Dallas TD? Then why in the Blue frick did the call an awful PI on Terrance Williams on a crucial first down? To say that game is rigged is absolute bullshite. Such an easy cop out for being upset the Cowboys won

They would never call this unless Dez kept going after the ref after being told to get back to the sideline.

You realize that Detroit had ONE penalty up till the 4th quarter right??? Then they finish with 9.....

Say what you want but THAT call changed the mojo of the game in Dallas" favor.. It was a horrible cal.. Something YOU will not admit to...
