Because the best golf is here you moron. He wants to compete against the best and establish his legacy. Some of you dipshits are ridiculous. How could you hate on Rory in any of this?

He passed up literally hundreds of millions of dollars and put his arse on the line repeatedly to try and protect the game. Of course some of you figs would side with the greed only losers.

In other words, he came here where the money was.

I don't give a shite if you believe me or not, but Rory contacted LIV last year and wanted ridiculous amounts of money and the Saudis said no. Then, after the fact, he found the PGA religion.

3rd, there will be a board that will decides current LIV players whether they are allowed back to the PGA Tour. They basically said…some players will get a “frick You”…or “You’re Cool”…sounds like Phil and Reed are getting a “frick You”.

There is no way in hell they can do this. You cant form a board, invent new rules, AND retroactively enforce those rules to some and not all. Any retribution will be done to all or none. Or there will be more lawyers than players and caddies on tour.

I would be so fricking pissed if I'm Rory or any other golfer that turned down literally Millions for the PGA to do this. Wasn't Tiger offered like 750M?

Ha ha. Wishful thinking. All the players will be back. Monahan is just a lap dog for the Saudis now and they’ll want Phil and Reed back because they are good and popular players that will bring eyeballs. It’s going to be fun watching them pay lip service to punishment while Phil goes strolling into the clubhouse.

The PGA is a 501c non-profit business.

I didn't know this.
I am wondering if this is going to fall apart and wind up functionally being a stall of some sort. If LIV is BOD Chair and majority then the PGA CEO is a place holder in name only and not the decision maker

They said the LIV players have to go through a rejoining process. They will be bringing up “tweets”…”interviews”….”statements”. The PGA can actually decides who can play on their tour.

It was up there. Hildeki was in the 300 million range. Trump warned these guys, a year ago, that they better get on the gravy train before it leaves the station. You know what they say, "Opportunity only knocks once."

They’re starting to do it in soccer

Totally different situation. Soccer does it with the blessing of the team that "owns" them. Leasing out players in soccer to other leagues is built into the fabric of the sport. NFL teams do not even let their players participate in charity basketball games without permission.

Narrative will change is my best guess.
Nope

And make fun of him all you want for towing the company line and for all the lame as hell “murderous regime” stuff and ignoring China.

I think it was a dumb move for him to go there. Hypothetical even.

But he has plenty solid points.

You get money if NFL players leave the NFL to go play in high school stadiums for $300M?

As of yesterday, this was correct. Today, its a Collective and no one knows what the exact rules are going to be. While I have no proof, I'm willing to bet one of the new rules is going to be some sort of amnesty for LIV players.

The pga tour that owns the majority voting interest, that pga.

In a company the financing side can make it a pain in your arse, but those with the board votes is the power

PGA totally screwed over their loyal members while the LIV players got bank. This is so awesome.

Face of PGA turned down $750m only to now be rejoined with LIV players without the compensation.

Seems like the only thing the Saudis wanted is to “whitewash” their image of their country through sports…the only thing the Saudi is providing is money and funding to the PGA and the whole golf organizations (ie, WP Tour, Asia Tour, etc…). It sounds the PGA Tour is running all the holdings and making the decisions.
