I don’t think he is a puppet
He already was a puppet in the original interview. He wouldn't shut down the question of whether or not Saudi is running golf now. That tells you all you need to know.
quote:
The Saudi’s don’t know shite about running a golf tour, clearly. They simply want their name on a good produxt(hence why they merged with the tour)
And Monahan isn't the only guy on the planet that knows how to. His arse could be gone pretty quickly.
quote:
And clearly, he thought the money was worth it
And that's an issue. Players were blasted for taking money and Monahan was at the forefront. Now he did the exact same thing. You think that's going to be good for him?

So he has the power as long as they want him to have it? Are you there yet?

So everyone in the world is a puppet. Got it
People get paid to run things, that’s kinda how work and a job goes….

If that is a puppet then every CEO in the world is a puppet I guess

quote:That’s silly. If there are puppets, there are puppet masters. PIF appears to be the puppet master here.
So, in your definition, every person in the world is basically a puppet. Got it
Truthfully, I don’t know that he is reduced to a puppet, but he almost certainly will be beholden to the PIF in the new org.
They will set it up to avoid that appearance. They will put on a public face of this being a big win for the PGA. You will eat it up and come back here with some I told you so’s. In the end, the money backer will exert its control over time in one way or the other. That’s how the world works.

Do you think Roger Goodell is a puppet?

Are you serious? What a dumb take. Hell for me I own my own business, I choose who I do work for. Everybody that works for me chose to work for me and can freely leave whenever they want and I don't tell them what and when to speak.

No, you said the PGA Tour retained a majority voting interest and that's why they're the winners. Noooooow, Jay is a puppet like every CEO because they do what the money (in this case, PIF) tells them to do. Which is it?

For all y’all’s moral outrage and virtue signaling it’s got to sting a bit seeing your leader kiss the black gold ring..
He could’ve ended this a year ago when he had the leverage but his ego and pride wouldn’t allow him to humbly negotiate a deal. Now he’s the morally bankrupt villain he tried to paint phil as…

And jay is now the ceo, he will be the decision maker going forward just like all ceos. If the board is unhappy, the chair can bring it to the vote of the board on removing the Ceo

quote:Yes, and I think Jay was a defecto puppet before today. That’s my entire point
Do you think Roger Goodell is a puppet?
Jay went from being a commissioner that answered to the players, to being the CEO of a future company where the money backer doesn’t have majority control.
Jay gained MORE POWER today. Agreed?

Man oh man, the Golf Channel is spinning like a wheel this afternoon. They have been making LIV's argument all day.
Brandel Chamblee just told us that his position isn't about politics or about him. Really, dumbazz, this guy just got up on his high horse to tell everyone within earshot Koepka didn't deserve to be on the Ryder Cup after he won the PGA Championship because of his LIV involvement. That's NOT politics?
If you guys are going to be antagonists, be antagonists, and stick to your guns. Nothing lower than more of the Monahan 2-face dance we've been getting.
