I would never get near or let anyone I love near a drowning adult in deep water. I would of course do anything I could to get them flotation, which is really all they need.

So sort of flotation device is mandatory to have a decent chance of survival

Peyton Hillis, the former Cleveland Browns star who was on the cover of the Madden 12 video game, was reportedly hospitalized after a swimming accident where he saved his kids from drowning.

This will curtail a lot of arguments in their house.

The water in that video looks like it does when the rip currents are running on the gulf coast. The waves aren't terribly bug, but it's all stirred up.

Good for him. I'm glad he's recovered enough to go home.

So the guy is dying on the beach basically, kids are freaking out crying, and the girlfriend is only worried about holding on to the dog. ????

Update on Peyton Hillis. He did an interview with Michael Strahan on Good Morning America so good to see him making a recovery

Eh, people react to medical emergencies in different ways. That's much better than her running around like a mad lady or otherwise being hysterical and drawing attention away from the person in need.

Does anyone know what exactly happened to him? He said he was walking out of the water and he passed out. Then they said he also had kidney failure at one point and he said his head was messed up I am assuming mentally. Did he just expel so much energy and effort physically and mentally in such a short period of time that his body just quit?
