Yeah, the cultural fit is probably not great. Les' goofiness worked in BR even though he is a northerner. BK is a Catholic drunk, though, so maybe it will be OK.

Kelly has one of the best resumes in college football, so it looks like Woodward did fine.

Kelly is definitely the Anti-Coach O that's for sure. Couldn't really think of two polar opposites. Maybe Aranda.

get the age thing, but he's a young 60 IMO.

Hell coach 8-10 years, make another $100 million and retire at 70. If he gets fired early, hell still probably get $100 million and buy an island.

It's a great deal if he really wants to win a Natty before he's done coaching.

if people thought Riley to USC was culture shock wait until BK in is Baton Rouge

I think LSU has one the largest Catholic student bodies in the nation. Baton Rouge and South Louisiana is overwhelmingly Catholic

This is slapping on the face of those arrogant NDers.

NDers thought coaches only can be dumped by the program. Not the other way around.

Doesn't seem like a cultural fit, but good luck.

I'm surprised, I thought he was a tremendous fit at ND. Money talks though, and I bet it gets tough playing SEC programs in the postseason looking over at the monsters these coaches can build.

The knock is he's kind of a prickly Yankee that's never been in the South. It will be a cultural adjustment for sure, but if this legit then he wants that challenge. And if he can recruit and he wins it won't matter how much of a dick he is to the media or the rednecks who call in on his show (see Saban). It's an experiment but one with tremendous upside. He could be an all timer

He can now put a roster together to win a national title. It's hard to win at ND with their academic standards. I know the CCB is going crazy right now, but this is an outstanding hire, IMO

Well yeah, just because you win with smart kids doesn’t mean you can coach a team full of NFL talent. The SEC is a different animal now and Notre Dame is not what it used to be.

I’m shocked though. Notre Dame is supposed to take our coaches, not the other way around

I don't really buy this. That fact is offset by him being able to walk into any Catholic high school in the country and picking the best of the best. ND, for example, recruits the private schools in Ohio better than OSU does.

It would be a fantastic hire for LSU if true. Kelly is a great coach.

But it would be an adjustment culture wise for him. Going from the Midwest to the deep, delta South is a little bit of a change.

And like someone said above, he's a young 60.

Saban uses Kelly’s mouth to wipe off his dick. The SEC is going to pummel him. 2 years and a buy out.

It’s a fantastic hire. Easily the biggest get in LSU football history.
