I tend to agree with this.

Would make zero sense for ESPN to cancel him over the rumor he might run for politics next year

It’ll be some dumb reason like “they can’t say anything about possibly being a public political figure” or some dumb shite like that.

I'm sure Clay Travis isn't spinning this to drive attention to his website/podcast

Maybe so but should people just ignore it?

While I don't think he should be fired for this specifically, there's not fricking way I'm intentionally depriving myself of the ability to watch LSU play any sport for the sake of that jackass.

Paul isnt a dummy. He knew they would cancel his show once he went public with his Republicanism.

Hopefully he sues them. But probably not. I figure at minimum he'll go into political radio in Birmingham.

Clay Travis definitely didn't post this for clicks. Never would he say something just for clicks.

Found the justification for them keeping him. He's far left.

Eh, he's a dem but he's definitely not "far left". He's even gone on record saying more black people should think about voting Republican before. I think honestly he's a closet conservative but he's not going to do or say anything to mess with his paper while on the airwaves playing his character.

I enjoy the Nakos confirmation juxtaposed next to the ESPN denial.

Nakos fricking sucks.

Actually, everyone involved in this story sucks. Finebaum, Travis, Nakos, and ESPN.

I read that as On3 is reporting on Travis' tweet, not confirming the actual cancellation

It's the old ESPN formula- create a story, then make a story of someone reporting the story, gin up attention, then when the original story isn't 100% true, ignore your reporting

Or claim you forced the change, which is what Clay Travis will do if The Finebaum Show airs at its normal 2:00 TV slot on SEC Network, this afternoon.
