The alabama fan base thinks rape is ok..a fan teabagged someone passed out and thought charges were stupid to be pressed. I saw it on a message board where alot of them said it.
you also pack a stadium for spring football...thats the most cultish thing in sports.

I'm using plenty of reason and logic Mr. The NCAA Should Have No Power to Punish Anyone Because It's Not Perfect.

Alright if football isn't a big deal then why are you so worried about it?

I haven't read this thread since page 3 this morning, but here's why innocent people(current players and coaches) are going to get punished.
The NCAA has to let it be known that the football coach can not be have more authority than the school administration, AND THE LOCAL POLICE DEPT. Joe Pa kept all of the allegations out of the public's eye by intimidating his "superiors" in the school office and also the local police department, who first got wind of Sandusky's pedophilia in 1998.
I don't find any fault with other athletic programs at Penn St, but the football program should receive the death penalty.

So yes, you're arguing the NCAA should never hand down a major punishment.
No, not really. By saying this is retarded, nobody is claiming that the NCAA is right every other time. Again, learn to differentiate. The NCAA's system is shite and rarely punishes those actually involved. This case is no different.

But to say their lives are over because of these sanctions is a bit of an over exaggeration.

Whatever you say.
If that isn't what you are arguing then explain how the NCAA can punish for violations without it affecting anyone that wasn't directly involved.

They really don't. Sounds to me like an admin and police department problem.

Yes. He was the mob boss

That'll teach Paterno and Sandusky!

Well I sure as hell didn't think it was ok. I sure as hell didn't think poisoning trees was ok either.

He's just going to ask for names or say the FBI should handle it. Because apparently the ethical bylaws that the NCAA has set and agreed upon shouldn't ever be enforced.

Fines and banning the coaches/players involved?
ETA: That would somewhat affect the innocent but at least you would be hammering the main suspects and not just a shite load of "maybes"

Who are these people being punished? Football is not a God-given right. Football is a privilege.
A privilege from who? It takes a real liberal assclown like you to make a comment like that.
Why don't you let government punish you from all your hobbies and see how you like it when we tell you they were just privileges.

I agree. Dont forget, PSU is a northeastern school, therefore incapable of committing any real sins. After all this talk, the NCAA is not going to drop the hammer on one of their favored programs - especially a B1G school. If this had occurred at a Southern school - especially an SEC school - what Rome did to Carthage would be child's play compared to what the NCAA would do. Penn State? Slap on the wrist.

fightingtiger is just a troll, I think. Ignore him. These are guys are actually this uninformed or in denial or just have terribly misplaced priorities.

You really are quite daft for your age. I may be young but I do have common sense. No one is saying they should get away with it. The job of prosecuting and punishing the men who facilitated this is for the police, not the NCAA.
Actually, police neither prosecute nor punish, if you want to be a smartass.

Are you serious? More so, than say, the actual cult following that exists at State College?
Alabamas spring attendance has nothing to do with a cult following. There is just nothing else to do in the town.

You're assuming they're maybes because they were nailed with criminal charges.
