Anymore recent news about what the penalties are going to be? The last one I saw was the Charles Robinson one about "crippling" schollie losses.

Who is having their lives turned upside down?

They have to go through the absolute horror of transferring, playing football, and getting a full-ride free education at a place where child rape isn't condoned. Dear God, what a cruel fate.

Well, moving away from friends and family and struggling with whether or not credits can transfer or if the new school has their major seems like it would cause problems.

You can't cover up a child rape scandal and think nothing is going to come of it. Im sure the current administrators feel that the school should be punished. Im sure they have a moral code they stand by.

You're assuming that is all guaranteed and won't effect their personal lives at all. Why the focus on football?

So all players are being banished from the school?

A cult-like atmosphere that allowed a child rapist to thrive is a slightly bigger problem though.

A risk that is taken when you sign up to play for a program. Like everything in life there's risks and pros/cons. It's no different then kids that sign up for a program who ends up with recruiting violations. It sucks but they can't just avoid punishing anyone because someone might get hurt.

You're essentially arguing the NCAA shouldn't punish anyone, ever.

If football isn't their main concern they don't have to transfer, do they?

Lawsuits. Tarnished image. Admin turmoil and turnover.

But we're the ones focused on football? If athletics are so trivial then why get your dick so hard about doing away with them?

I'm arguing that the NCAA shouldn't punish innocent people. Stop trying to act like it's anything else just so you can justify your bloodlust.

I don't have cable. And unlike you or anyone else on your side, I actually read the Freeh report.

I think Dan Wetzel's piece answers many questions asked in this thread by those not agreeing with NCAA hammer -

Emmert - Enough is Enough

Does the Freeh report tell you why innocent people should be punished? This seems like quite the philosophical document. Which great philosophers influenced it?

Credits? Majors? Moving? Sounds absolutely horrific.

If that's the price some associated with the program have to pay, then I'm ok with it.
