Fun facts

Michigan State announced this AFTER the bulk of their season ticket packages were already sold. This takes them from 7 home games to 6.

Your season tickets only put you at the front of the line to order tickets to this b/c it's a "neutral site" game.

This was supposed to be Michigan State's senior day.

This is the 100th anniversary of Spartan Stadium.

Michigan State's home schedule now consists of Central Michigan, Richmond, Washington, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska.

I like the spectacle of it, but it doesn't make a lot of sense unless somebody else is paying for it.

Ah yes, Ford Field... One of the great football settings in America!!

Now that's what makes college football great!

I'm weird in that I enjoy the occasional college game in a pro stadium where elements aren't an issue. But, I totally understand it's sterile -- and taking away senior day from your home stadium is disgusting.

Dantonio would have told someone to go frick themselves if this was proposed while he was still there. This is pathetic for Michigan State.

College ADs who shift games to bland cooperatized NFL neutral site games should face a firing squad.

Non-lethal. I'm not a monster. Bean bag or paintball to punish them for what they've done.

LSU and Wisconsin played in Reliant and Lambeau (Lambeau isn't bad but it's not Camp Randall)

LSU and Florida State playing in the Superdome and Camping World

Doing it for OOC big name matchups is one thing.

Doing it for conference games with big name opponents is horseshite.

If I still had LSU season tickets, I would be pissed if I paid as much as I have in the past to find that Alabama, Florida, Georgia, etc, had been moved to the Superdome instead.

Michigan state must have really passive fans if they basically don’t cause an uproar over this and get it undone.

Eta: penn state too. I’d be pissed if I found out my MSU trip got shifted to fricking Detroit.

Woodward would completely undo any goodwill he has with LSU fans if he tried this shite

I don’t mind it for the early season non conference type kickoff games. But forcing it for a late season conference game like this is the fricking worst

Expect more of this due to the Big10 having to give NBC a prime time game every week with their new deal. They don’t want to play November games outside at night. If this game was scheduled for September no way it gets moved to Ford Field.

TV Execs were also the snake in the SECs ear telling them to add Texas and OU. I genuinely fear that the CFB Super League is right around the corner

Most of their fans probably live in the Detroit area anyway.

Had no issue with playing Friday night but this is very disappointing. I understand with all the alumni in metro Detroit though.

Timing is my biggest thing. If they had planned this in way advance that's one thing but a few months before season starts is really shitty

I don't like it, and I would absolutely hate it if I was an MSU fan.

Maybe they just want a better chance to win on Senior Day which will now be against Nebraska instead of Penn State? Unless they do Senior Day at Ford Field. I wouldn't put something like that past Mel comin' Tucker.

This doesn’t matter. I would much rather drive 4 hours to see Alabama in Tuscaloosa than see them in the big metro area I live.

Going back to campus is one of the major appeals of going to CFB games especially for a game like this that will likely have no championship implications.
