He is stuck in a shite org, who will not put talent around him to win. That lineup is pathetic for a team drafting in top5ish for many years.
They trade away their talent before they can walk, restart, continue to be shite.
Sat there at Busch, watching him dominate and his lineup flail against a mediocre stl starter. He literally cannot give up 1 run a game, or they lose.

Ben Cherington is not the GM to turn them around. He’s about to have his fifth consecutive losing season with the Pirates. A rebuild should not be taking that long. Mike Elias and Mike Hazen showed the blueprint of how a proper rebuild should go. Three losing seasons, a fourth season where the team finishes slightly above .500 and then they take off to become perennial contenders after that. Any GM worth their salt would have the Pirates contending by now not still rebuilding.

Basically what Jeff Luhnow did in Houston but a season quicker into contending. Mike Elias took the blueprint with him to Baltimore.
