Anyone who has ever attended college can tell you that probably over half of the athletes aren't good students. There is a reason why academic tutors are in such high demand. Also, if anyone thinks for one minute that athletes arent steered towards easy classes and majors then our fricking lying to yourself. Thayer Evans took shite that any realistic person knows, and wrote an article about it and it's shocking to the naive. This shite is so ridiculous it doesnt even make sense.

Exactly. This is getting worse and worse for SI. I think most of us are still waiting for those "earth-shattering" allegations of misconduct to come out.

This is pathetic. The most damning allegation against Miles: he "subtlely" held of two-fingers for academics and one for football"

Has anyone ever watched one of his press conferences? Heard him speak? There's no dobut is that he just screwed up the corresponding hand signals. The national perception of him is that he is a buffoon. Yet now we're supposed to believe that he is actually some sort of sly fox who was the mastermind in some of wide-reaching academic conspiracy?

I heard from a good friend who is close to the program that OSU football players routinely hooked up with chicks from 2000 through 2011. Any by hooked up, I mean had sex.

Am I being a homer or is the article so far pretty weak? Unless they have some actual evidence it seems like a lot of nothing. Btw here is what their star witness from today's piece posted, pretty sure he's a Rhodes scholar LINK

Now it almost looks like its going to be SI who ends up with the egg on their face.

At this point, unless it comes out that there was players that were selling heroin to students and the coaches were making a percentage this is trivial BS.

it's very weak.

toss in Thayer Evans being an OU fan, his years of attacking Okie Light, and his past of flat making up shite before and you have a very suspect article.

far be it from me to defend the Longhorns but he did similar shite to them a few years back where he heavily embellished his "report"

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Thayer Evans played basketball at a school in Oklahoma. Evans was kicked out of school for stealing.

Evan's beat his wife, and there is currently a restraining order against him.

Evans was fired from the Houston Chronicle for lying on his resume
Evans was fired from Fox Sports for making up sources.

He is quite literally a lying, cheating, woman beating, thief. Excuse me if I don't take him at his word.

Just so there are no illusions about Thayer Evans and his thoughts about Oklahoma State:
“…a meltdown by seventh-year Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy is coming just like usual, as evidenced by his sixth-ranked team’s sloppy 38-26 victory Saturday against incompetent No. 22 Texas.”

“Even the rest of the college football world knows Gundy is bound for a debacle. It’s the unspoken reason no one is worried about the Cowboys winning the Big 12 championship, let alone the national title, this season.”

“Everyone is just waiting for Chokie State to once again live up to its nickname under Gundy.”

“Of course, Gundy’s biggest meltdown wasn’t even on a football field. It was four years ago, when he infamously yelled, “I’m a man! I’m 40!” while berating a female newspaper columnist for what she had written.
Yet despite his knack for meltdowns, a solemn Gundy managed to avoid one Saturday when asked whether he was haunted by his past failures.
“No,” Gundy said. “It’s a new season.”
But it’s still the same Gundy, always on the verge of a disaster.”

“And if this season is going to be any different for Gundy, even one of his best players can’t tell you why. When asked why people should believe that Oklahoma State won’t disappoint, Weeden was at a loss for words.

Sounds like there will be some blow back on SI

3 Cowboys who played between 2000 and '11 told SI that they participated in some form of academic misconduct, and 16 others were named by teammates as also having had schoolwork done for them. Players said that they routinely had their coursework completed by tutors or university staff members, that they were provided with answers to exams before taking them, and that they received passing grades despite doing little or no work.
