Out of all former NBA players, how did ESPN decide on bringing in Kendrick Perkins?

I don’t think I’ve ever thought “I wonder what Kendrick Perkins has to say about this” after watching a basketball game. Is he only employed to drive up X interactions from people commenting how dumb he is? Worst “analyst” on ESPN, and there is some tough competition for that distinction. EJ and the gang can’t arrive soon enough. Anyway, thank you for coming to my TED talk. Bring back Baseball Tonight. Dear Facebook.

ESPN doesn't care about integrity, journalism or competence. It just wants traffic from viewers. It caters to the Jerry Springer audience.

We gotta get you some fresher references than a reality show that went off the air officially 7 years ago but hasn’t been culturally relevant for atleast 20

Hey good job baw you managed to make a sensible post about a sports topic without mentioning any unrelated overt homosexual Yankees fanaticisms.

I’m convinced it’s because he agreed to live and sleep in an office in the abandoned wing of their Bristol complex, and get paid with free buffets in their cafeteria.

Essentially they pay him nothing, and in return, he supplies them hours of programming per week.

How about "ESPN caters to the Worldstar audience"?

Another cultural reference that hasn’t really meant anything in 5 plus years.

Try out something like “caters to the Adin Ross” audience

I feel physical pain when I’m at the gym and look at the TV and it says “ESPN NBA Analyst Kendrick Perkins.”

For Christ’s sake call him anything but that. Greta Thunberg is closer to being a scientist than he is to being an NBA Analyst.

To me, ESPN has been trying to recreate Inside The NBA for a while. Multiple different attempts. Someone who doesn't know their arse from their elbow said: "Kendrick Perkins is kind of like a Shaq or a Barkley"..

Yankareenos were off yesterday but they're back. Mariners back today too so we can all hope for some D&D tonight from the Judge and Big Cal

No one likes:

1. Kendrick Perkins
2. Eduardo Perez
3. In-game coach interviews

and still we get force fed this shite content on TV every day because viewers are captive audiences and the networks DGAF because they’re still swimming in money.

It reminds me of how Bob Golic and Dan Dierdorf hung on for like 2 fricking decades despite literally nobody liking either of them

They cater to the crowd that enjoys listening to a guy rap while sitting on a couch with an oxygen tank.

Not related but Kendrick Perkins used to be a Catholic altar boy. The thought of him wearing robes and holding up the Bible for the priest to read makes me lol.

Agreed and he was also not very good at basketball either. I feel like the average big man playing in rotation off the bench today is 10x more skilled than Perkins.
