ETA: in the longer report he mentions incidents of racism. A lot of it seems like the plight of many college athletes. Oh well.

I would rather just let them transfer when they want to as opposed to this subjective process that incentivizes storytelling.

It's really up to the next school to decide if the kid is worth the trouble, whether they have to sit a year or not.

Reese said he transferred from Georgia because his time in Athens “took a devastating mental toll” on him, citing multiple instances of observed racism and harassment by police.

My favorite part was when the author of the piece just copied his statement verbatim instead of doing due diligence and trying to find evidence of a public display of racism.

Oooohhhh those terrible racists who let you in a prestigious university with free room and board, training, doctors, hot coeds etc.

Because you can chase a ball, oh the humanity.

The NCAA has caused a massive problem here with their selective waiver process. It’s absolutely absurd.

Claim of Racism + police brutality = get your way whether true or not

Learned from the Justin Fields playbook.

Recruit: Where can I go where implicit and explicit bias doesn't affect policing?

Otis: Mississippi

Mike Leach & Lane Kiffin: Thanks!

ETA: It is a real thing, and I'm not saying he didn't see that. My point is you're not going to find that place in America or anywhere, so it looks like he's just throwing shite against the wall to see what sticks.

Interesting how both Mays and Reese are transfers who only said that once their eligibility was in doubt

And I mena UGA is so racist that Fields had to transfer and get a waiver for immediate play, yet he was ok visiting during the Ohio state off time for a UGA scrimmage.

Odd place to go if racism is a worry for him.

Name one school that has done more to combat its own racist past in the last 30 years. Ole Miss has done a metric shite TON of work in this area, and I'm proud.

And it had a shite ton of work to do. The '62 riots of James Meredith were an abomination.People were were murdered and Federal troops attacked ALL with encouragement from your Governor and other politicians.

Your teams called the freaking Rebels and Col Reb was your ON FIELD mascot as late as 2003.

When you’re school’s nick name is a term used by slaves to refer to the woman of the house, the official mascot is a confederate army officer named colonel reb, and you’re unofficial flag for in stadium displays was the confederate stars and bars I’d say you started significantly down the racism hole you had to dig out of.

Welcome now to level footing.

Irrelevant since there is a conference rule in place that says any intra-conference transfers that are not either graduate transfers or transfers from a school under a NCAA bowl ban must have an academic year in residence before they can play. And until the chancellors of the schools vote to change it, Reese and Cade Mays will sit out this season.
