Orlando Guardians sign former USF QB Quinton Flowers

Flowers, 28, spent three seasons with USF in Tampa, where he passed for 8,124 yards and 71 touchdowns during his career with the Bulls. He holds the school and American Athletic Conference record for total career offense (11,802) and earned ACC Offensive Player of the Year in 2016.
The Miami native signed with the Cincinnati Bengals (2018) and Indianapolis Colts (2019) before being drafted by the Tampa Bay Vipers as part of the XFL in 2020. After the league folded, he signed with the Fan Controlled Football League in 2021, where he played for the FCF Beasts.

Flowers’ signing comes three days after a report that the Guardians released backup quarterback Quinten Dormady after a team investigation into sharing team plays with the opposition. The XFL released a statement saying it had reinstated Dormady while it underwent an investigation by the league.
When asked to clarify the situation Monday, Buckley deferred to league officials.
“The league is handling that. We’ve done what we’re going to do, and the league is handling that situation,” he said.
