Being the guy that just sits in the corner going” well acckktually commitments don’t mean anything “ in every commit thread just kind of makes you an a-hole.

That would be true before NIL.

Now? How can anyone get excited about any of these kids when you wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if they flipped or “respect my decision” transferred.

Allowing 17 year old kids asking for 7 figures is the dumbest thing this country has probably ever allowed. The boosters and people that donate to these funds are even dumber for allowing it.

Why does it matter to you that it some one else could care about it? Just keep it pushing. It adds nothing and does nothing to throw that into every thread. Bad things can happen to any news that comes out down the road.

But I mean do/post whatever you want, just don’t act surprised when people tell you to frick off about it. Simply don’t follow recruiting. It’s a very easy thing to ignore. Just don’t click onto the board. I don’t for 90 percent of the year typically, it’s very easy

unfortunately the Supreme Court has already said that player movement can’t be restricted.

What court case did Supremes say this?

I remember the temporary injunction by a district court judge that the NCAA not only didn’t appeal but changed the rules in total capitulation. The NCAA is actively avoiding pushing things to Supremes.

Bottom line is there is no legal way to stop this until the structure is changed. Unless I’m mistaken to change it players have to become employees, and then you can structure things and create more teeth or compensation packages that don’t burn you as bad

Non competes are on the verge of being nationally banned, so really doubtful any judicial system will try to enforce anything on non-employees

This fixes one of 3 ways
1. Become a professional type league with contracts like nfl, NBA, etc
2. Players become employees with earn out type contacts or something like that (but still under the guise of college athletics)
3. People get fed up and by and large don’t donate to NIL knowing the money doesn’t create a consistent return or result

At some point you would think people would get sick of funding this nonsense. Even at the lowest donation levels feels like pissing money away

The solution will either be contracts or antitrust exemption granted by Congress (which I thought they already had but apparently not).

It didn’t need it because it was always accepted that the NCAA could set it’s own participation and eligibility rules even as Sherman act had existed since end of the 19th century.

One concurring opinion mentioning NIL in a decision actually based on education benefits started the capitulation by university leaders who wanted to redistribute wealth to players on teams made up of a majority of blacks and found something they could use. This is why they don’t fight anything above district court anymore and just cave in.

My mistake, it wasn’t the Supreme Court. It was part of the settlement that the NCAA reached with the Justice Department who had joined a lawsuit brought against the NCAA by 10 states. Although, the plaintiffs had won an injunction in federal court, so the NCAA probably saw the writing on the wall and went ahead and caved.

Ewa Beach is the same tiny town Tua and Taulia Tagovailoa are from.

Do they have QB roids in the water?

Did he enroll early and practice with them for Rose Bowl prep? Not sure if that's a thing.

He did. Which means it’s possible for a schools to convince a player to sign with an opposing team if they would play them in the playoffs, send them back the bowl prep, then transfer after the game.

Playing football is not a right.
NCAA is private.
It makes its own rules that are designed for competitive fairness.

The schools receiving these transfers would have to agree to hold the guy back from playing. What program is going to be the first out the gate to do that?

If you're academically ineligible they have to hold you back then as well. What great obstacle is there to say "the rules say you can't play"?

You really present a strong argument there....

"Hey Johnny, you're being charged with murder because you shot someone."

Johnny: "So?"

"You can't just shoot peop!e because you want to"

Johnny: "So?"

I asked him first what the court got wrong in their decision and his analysis was like 4 words. I’m asking him to explain himself
