One Alabama player thinks the Crimson Tide could beat the Arizona Cardinals

I think he's delusional

The national championship game between Alabama and Clemson is growing closer by the second, and members of the Crimson Tide football team are obviously confident that they can win and claim their third title in four years.
But how confident are they about beating an NFL team? Yahoo Sports’ Tank Williams had to find out. He asked members of Alabama’s football team to pick an NFL team that they could beat to win the national championship game.
Most of the players who answered that question were very diplomatic. They wouldn’t pick a team, or said that there’s no way a college team — even one as successful as Alabama — could beat even the worst NFL team. Safety Deionte Thompson agreed with that assessment, adding that he didn’t want to burn any bridges with NFL teams (who could presumably draft him in the future).
quote:
But not everyone agreed. Near the end of the video, one player wanted to confer with offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood on the question, and after a moment, Leatherwood arrived at his answer: the Arizona Cardinals. The reason he gave was simple.
“The Cardinals [are] trash.”
While that’s a little harsh, the 3-13 Cardinals were pretty putrid this season. While the Oakland Raiders were loudly and obviously bad, the Cardinals were just as bad, though in a quiet, low-key way. A way that some people might miss, but not Lockwood. The Raiders occasionally stumbled into brilliance (and would just as quickly stumble away from it), but the Cardinals were bad from pretty much start to finish.
Thankfully for Alabama (and possibly for the Cardinals), they don’t have to beat an NFL team to win the national championship. They just have to beat Clemson. They’ve done it before, and on Monday they’ll find out if they can do it again.

If you were an NLF player, no way I'd play in that scrimmage. Imagine busting up your knee playing against Bama as an exhibition No way jose.

The 2018 cardinals would cream an all-american college team from any year in the modern area. Like 70+ points with ease cream.
There is a level of conditioning and growth in the NFL that no college program is anywhere near or CAN be anywhere near based on the age of college players. Think of Bama, an unstoppable force in today's era. They send tons of players to the NFL. Half of those dudes bust, and of the ones that don't it takes them years to be even serviceable, let alone good.
Anyone who says this, player or not, is completely lost and has no understanding of this sport at all

The 0-16 Browns and Lions of recent history would beat the ever living frick out of any current college team.
These retards don't remember that damn near EVERYONE on every college roster was the best on their team at their position in college, some were the best 1 or 2 in their conference / country, yet you think they won't exploit your weaknesses with pure strength, experience, speed, violence, and momentum?
I hate this argument.

some football games have weird flows and scripts.. Citadel was tied 10-10 at half with Bama... I could see Arizona/Bama being a competitive game in some simulations but it feels like Bama would just lose 99/100 games

People that say this stuff every season are so freaking stupid.
Typically Alabama loses 1 college game a year.. and no way those teams can hang with an NFL team. Didn't Alabama lose to Auburn last year, who lost to UCF? I recognize this is a different year, but pointing out how absurd the claims are on a yearly basis.
Alabama is just that much better than the current competition on their schedule, but that doesn't project to the NFL level.
The thing is Alabama probably has, what, maybe 5-10 guys who would start on an NFL team right now? (not projections down the line..) The Cardinals and every other NFL teams have 11 NFL starters on each side of the ball. The depth they would have over Alabama is similar to the depth Alabama has over college teams.

He was baited into it by an irrelevant writer.
This isn't as bad as you're making it out to be.

The Cards were 3-13, and one of the wins was against a Aaron Rogers led team.
They lost by a field goal twice to Seattle and by 2 to the Bears. They aren’t THAT bad.
Number 4 pass defense in the league would lock down the Bama offense.

This just false. Plenty of college teams have amazing depth at a multitude of positions. Guys who were only good enough to be back ups go on to star in the NFL.
Alvin Kamara is one of the best RBs in the NFL. He was 4th string at Alabama behind TJ Yeldon, Derrick Henry, and Kenyan Drake.
There are plenty of examples like that in plenty of the top teams in college football.
Bama's 3rd string RB this year is probably going to be the first RB drafted in April.
Alabama just had 2 Wrs make NFL rosters that never made any impact at Alabama they were never the best players at their position at Alabama.

If I'm Clemson I try to go at him all day. Anyone that stupid is bound to make some mistakes.

Why do we keep having this conversation?
These threads?
That Alabama player is in for a rude awakening when he gets into the NFL and he ain't playing the Citadel anymore.
