And furthermore, I have been told on here for years that players in the NFL or the NBA or whatever are in ENTIRELY different situations than your average working employee. But now I'm supposed to get all up in arms over people protesting on the clock when I wouldn't get to do so at my job

Yeah, i agree with that. Moreso than the nfl where they're "on the clock". It's kind of the equivalent of inserting a political statement into the middle of a client meeting. In that situation one would expect a stern talking to from the boss and it would escalate from there.

The NFL players have a right to do it too. The question is that the proper forum? Also people have just as much a right to criticize them for kneeling and that’s where I get pissed off about the whole situation. If you’re gonna deliberately provoke people then you can’t get mad when they’re not receptive to your argument or cause. That goes back to the whole cheap symbolism thing I said before; these athletes don’t want to really make a case or advocate, they just want attention and prove that they’re “woke”. It’s virtue signaling at its finest

So do the people holding the rally. Both demonstrations are meaningless and dumb.

I was just saying that they're at work. So their boss also has the right to tell them to not do it and discipline or act accordingly if they don't listen. In the same way that i would ultimately get fired if i continued to throw in "white power" on every new business pitch.

They weren’t protesting the American Flag. They wanted to bring attention to the Conferdates on their campus of which they don’t agree with. Don’t really see a problem with it.

You’re talking about it. Them kneeling got you talking about it. They accomplished what they set out to do.

But why bring attention to them? Most people wouldn't have even known about the rally if not for this.

Completely ignoring them would seem more effective to me.

Exactly. Just ignore them and they won’t be known. Pull antics like this and you cause further division.

It’s a pretty big deal around the University/Oxford right now. Have rallied around both statues around town. Marches and protests all week around campus.

The kneelers are just sheep doing what they think is cool and fashionable. Half of them couldn’t name the three branches of government in the U.S., but they sure can tell you what the latest SJW celebrity has been preaching on social media.

They absolutely have the right to kneel, just like any normal person has the right to call them fools. It will be nice when this “desperate to be a victim” culture comes to an end.

The reality is that the demand and hunger for racism in this country by the media/Hollywood/SJW’s far exceeds the actual supply of it.

This kind of illustrates my point. I'm not saying it isn't and shouldn't be a big deal locally, but this form of protest just brings a larger spotlight to these CSA sympathizers than they deserve.
