I'm no Texan or Titans fan but this is dumb. This is nothing more than an FU to the city of Houston from the Titans ownership.

Those uniforms look sick though.

What's dumb is the NFL pretending that the Ravens are a 1996 "expansion" team. At least they don't do the same with the Titans.

But they could have let Houston have the colors and even the name.

The Texans had spent god knows how much money on Texans branding for 10+ years while Bud was still alive. Do they even want to pay for the Oilers brand from the Adams family now? Have they even asked for it?

I think Amy Adams Shrunk or whatever is probably a huge bitch, but the whole Oilers thing isn't on them.

You also keep trying to find comparisons that don’t fit the situation at all. Just stop, really at this point Houston fans don’t care that the team moved to Nashville anymore. We just wish the oilers name was still in Houston. Tennessee fans are so damn insecure that they can’t understand how this matters to Houston fans for a team that was in a city for 40 years.

The other big difference with the Colts, Dodgers, Jazz and Lakers is that those franchises are still using those names. Tennessee is no longer using the Oilers! They are simply being a——- in keeping Houston from using it.

A rebranding would be a huge financial bonanza for the Texans, so let the Adams family get 3% of merchandise sales
For the next ten years and call it a day.

Well the Ravens are the Browns and the Browns are the Browns again. Oilers belong in Houston.

I wasn’t much of an oilers fan but the white Jersey on powder blue pants, with the iconic derrick logo might be the GOAT uni.

So much better than that bland Texans garbage. Such a boring organization. I do feel bad for native Houstonians that the Oilers left.

I'm still mad about the Jazz name going to Utah. It's still ridiculous and always will be.

Robert Brazile made that uniform look good. He played my position and wore my number.

The NFL should force the Titans to give up their claims to the Houston Oiler's history and let Houston rebrand as the Oilers.

It's never too late too the right thing. New Orleans gave Charlotte the Hornets back after over a decade passed. Tennessee isn't even using the Oilers name anymore.

This whole Houston thing has been a disaster for sports fans. Everyone that's not a Titan fan wants the oilers colors and logo back to Houston, but the bigger screw up is letting the Houston franchise name themselves "Texans", thus limiting their potential out of state fanbase because nobody is going to side cheer for a team named after the worst drivers in this country.

Look no one knows more about this situation on this board than I do that is fact

the reason that the Oilers left town with the logo and the colors is not Adam's fault but is Bob Lanier's fault Bud Adams was willing to put his own money into a new NFL stadium not many NFL owners are willing to do that but Lanier who had a massive ego made a crack about the Oilers not deserving the stadium after the loss to Kansas City doubled down on it he and Bud Adams had never gotten along that town was not big enough for their egos and Oilers left town to Nashville not the city that they would have wanted to relocate. certainly as you were looking at relocation earlier Jacksonville Carolina other places had been mentioned that could have done a better job of sustaining the team

but Adams was pissed at Lanier no one in Harris County was willing to stick their neck out at the time because the Astros dominated the city's political landscape and the Astros were looking for a new stadium it is what it is I love the Oilers when I lost my football team i've never really had much of an interest in the NFL sense but it's not but Adam's fault or Amy's fault it's bob laniers fault

frick Bob Lanier

And after that it's mcnair's family that has been another part of the problem the Adams family was never gonna sell the rights but the Mcnair family are just a fricking bunch of fricking idiots

That entire organization is just retarded top to bottom

I worked with the Harris County Sports Authority for years I had dealings with the Astros Texans Rockets Dynamo Rice uh the NCAA bringing the Final Four and national championship game I've dealt with the World Cup people FIFA ( CORRUPT as F) without a doubt people with the Texans organization were the most afraid of angering the owners' people , good people but fearful of not protected the boss' financial interest above all else

There is a conflation of things going on here. Bud Adams left and that was what it was. It is the squatting on the oilers brand that makes him a contemptible piece of shite. When he decided to rebrand to the Titans, it was the perfect opportunity to return the brand (for a massive profit mind you). Instead, the Titans pop up from time to time to use the oilers brand to keep their trademark and prevent it from being used in Houston. The Adams' continued vindictive squatting is way worse than what he did out of the door. I can't imagine anyone in Nashville is fired up for the Oiler throwbacks since they have no meaningful connection to it. The Toiler straddle needs to end, and the oil derrick and blues should go to a team that will actually use them.

Imagine if Art Modell had one game every few years as the Browns to shove it further in Cleveland's face.
