This practice has been around for a long time for the elite players, just hasn't been spoken about!

That’s like demanding 5,000 just to show up at the job interview lol.

But they don't deserve to get paid to simply visit the school. Get outta here w/that noise.
They deserve to get paid what the market is willing to pay them.

Schools or their NIL collectives can simply say no, problem solved.

But if you argue if you say no then someone else will pay it, then you're conceding that's the market rate, so what's the issue?

What's the third-string long snapper worth?
Whatever the market dictates he's worth.

I find it hard to believe raising canes is selling anymore chicken than they were before they started handing out money. Also Gordon isn’t getting more clients because he is paying LSU players.

Cost-benefit analysis usually fails to account for the goodwill you generate by liking what your customers like, like the local team.

I guess he knows how fans feel when schools keep asking them to pay higher ticket and concession prices.

Either keep up with the times or get left behind. Similar to Dabo and the transfer portal, he’ll either learn the hard way or adapt.

No wonder Saban's pissed. He only gives $100 handshakes. Ante up Nicky!

Most of the blue chippers have offers before they even step on campus. Coaches watch their film, talk to their HS coaches and family, and visit their HS to watch them in person.

The world we live in now, where college kids make more than adults who have worked 30 years.

The only way to get a handle on this is to get these absolutely insane coaches’ salaries under control. I don’t care how much value they bring to their respective schools, a football coach should NOT be a state’s highest paid government employee. The state legislatures need to start passing legislation limiting the amount of money government employees earn. Maybe then we can start getting big college football under control from a monetary standpoint

More government isn't the answer

Curious if some bigger schools will work together to put some controls on such ridiculous requests like this.

These schools bail on each other for a paycheck. Bama and Ohio State will probably encourage it because they are the ones that can afford it.

We are just back to Old West days of recruiting but with higher demands.

Does anyone think schools that were paying more aren't going to just up the ante?
