This is a big deal? What is he supposed to say?

i dunno, something like...we respect Barbe for what they have acchomplished, Glen is a great coach surrounded by great players....but in the end we have to focus on WM and what we do and not get caught up in the moment and play our game.

simple and doesnt give motivation to the other team.

You're talking about a guy who was so chickenshit in his college coaching career that LSU wouldn't schedule his team.

And they weren't good.

If you ever get a chance to listen to a WM football/baseball radio broadcast as an opposing fan, you will see the problem here. They never feel like it is them, it is always somebody else. They walk into a room, pull the pin on a grenade, drop it, leave, and ask "what did I do? It is always the refs, luck, bounce of a ball, the dog ate the homework, etc.

I don’t want to make excuses for them but they’ve been accustomed to having the best talent in football and now baseball… they’re not used to teams lining up against them and just being better

Oh so Barbe wants the opposing coach to go on the radio and suck them off and swallow? Anything else is disrespect. Lmao how pathetic to get upset by that.

THat is most school based broadcast teams though. I mean I listened to one last year that railed for 10 minutes about a DPI or defensive holding NOT being an automatic first down.

Nah. WM is alone in that they have fans that complain about bad calls and radio guys biased toward their own team. It’s a crazy thing.

This is an interesting take on a guy who hasn't coached in about 20 years. Don was always fantastic, competitive, but never in an arrogant way.

As for the whole WM/Barbe saga.

This is a tale as old as time... two competitive coaches, each with their own douche bag tendencies.

My take on it is this: Simoneaux is an idiot. Not for writing "ourselves" on the lineup, and not for the interview. He is an idiot for thinking that that type of pseudo-motivational technique matters to kids these days. I'd be willing to bet that WM players found that shite cheesy as hell.

Cecchini is an idiot because he took offense to it instead of saying "he's just trying to motivate his guys." Then Cecchini is a douche for jumping on top of the dogpile, and then running his mouth to the WM players. I've met that dude a number of times and I'd almost bet money on it that he is on the spectrum.

Both guys are great high school coaches (Sim was a terrible college coach and even worse recruiter), but this is a whole bunch of stupidity from two grown men.

There is a YouTube video of an interview with the Barbe HC after the game explaining it all.

Question: do you think he gives the proper amount of credit to those who aren’t in the Barbe program but did their part to prepare and raise those kids? Or for that matter helped lift the program up?

Or does he think all their championships are due to his superior coaching?

I believe this is from this mornings show. Just started listening to it but it’s off to a fiery start.

Me too. Cecchini said it in his post game interview, he probably should not have said anything (thanked them after for the disrepect/bulletin board material), that he understood the WM HC was probably just trying to motivate his own kids, how talented WM is, that he has known the WM HC for a long time, much respect for them, and that as competitors in the heat of the moment things were said. They were said because most would NOT put what was put on a lineup card that is the OFFICIAL card for everybody to see, including your opponent, and most would not have said what the WM HC said on radio/interviews. They asked for Barbe, and got them.

Dale, you need to go listen to some other programs too.... I know of two schools that got letters from local officiating/umpire associations for their crew and fans behavior

yep...i thought glen nailed the interview. little over the top but that is who he is and why people would run through a brick wall for him and why his former players love him.

This is the kind of baseball that’s a delight to watch. BTW, I covered Barbe at Southside. 3-5A is tremendous

Everyone needs to go listen to the WM morning radio show interview from yesterday. He's still pissed about it and called Glenn a nutjob.

I see both sides. Glenn has been known to be a hothead, so it doesn't surprise me.
