U High will take down the baptists again. The only reason the score was close last time is the Cubs took their foot off the gas.
Yeah and the 5-1 turnover ratio had nothing to do with it. I don't believe PBS will win this game but that statement was silly.

taking a kid from a crime impoverished inner city neighborhood and providing him transportation and free or reduced tuition is......
I definitely concur with this, and this goes on with another select school if Baton Rouge.... But it is not right to throw Mubingrwa in this category when it is often done unfairly

school picked itself up from the ruins of katrina and their original location in St Bernard. school is largely made up of relocated st bernardians.
if they aren't coming back after almost a decade...
it's a new school basically in a new area with a new population... all the st. bernard kids should be long gone unless they're making an hour drive each day

i don't even think they should claim jeff sanchez and jason schule anymore...

BTW, anyone know anything about Hanan? Nobody gave the Knights much of a shot making it to the dome now we are one game away
I can't tell you much about Hannan, but I will tell you that the winner out of Hannan and Episcopal is pretty much doomed in the Superdome.
Dunham, who was a failed two-point conversion away from beating Episcopal this year, lost to Catholic-NI 50-9. Northlake Christian, who went undefeated in Hannan's district, including a 20-7 win over Hannan, was down 39-0 at home to Catholic-NI and eventually lost 60-26.
Now I know the transitive property is rather poor grounds for forming an opinion on a football team, but I've got to believe the winner out of Catholic-NI and Calvary will dispose of Episcopal/Hannan with ease in two weeks.

did you see first game?
No, I did not. The only chance I'll have to see either team will be if they make it to the dome. I've got a ton of respect for PBS, but if I had my choice, I'd like to see superstars in two weeks (Kenny Young, Malachi Dupre, Garrett Brumfield, Nicholas Brossette, Dylan Moses, etc.)

You are silly if you think that defense does not play a part in turnovers.

i will say this... john serio was slowly but surely killing that school... as i like to remind everyone, Hannan was 0-10 the year Chalmette was 10-0...
had they come back right after katrina they could have been 1A or 2A again like early in their existence but made a go of it in st. bernard
with all the FEMA money put into Chalmette High, it would have been tough for a 1A or 2A to compete right after unless they weren't truly competing
but with the recent bad publicity Chalmette has endured, I think enough parents would choose an alternative if they could afford it. Chalmette dropping out of the Catholic League in the late 80s and going coed coincided nicely with Hannan's opening

quote:yeah this is all complete lies... never seen a commercial about "sponsoring" kids.. plus the new free tuition scholarship for ONE freshmen that tests well.. not athletes.. leave that to U know who
kind of ironic when they are advertising free tuition on billboards and saying during tv broadcasts of games that players are being "sponsored" by other parents(paying their tuition)

billboard was a month ago on airline - it said free tuition available
there was no commercial about sponsoring a kid - it was a statement made by the announcers during a tv game recently and since been confirmed.

Episcopal offers one years tuition for a student in each grade every year. This student must maintain a 4.0 GPA to keep the scholarship for the following years. In no way are they handing away tuition money to talented athletes. May want to get your facts straight next time

Ben I am not making assumptions or accusations,
Just repeating what was said on the broadcast and what was on the billboard
If E is gonna throw rocks at u high for recruiting, they may want to look at the perceptions created by those two aforementioned facts

This is the free tuition they were referring to on the billboard: Free Tuition
I'm sure that program will bring in tons of 5* prospects.
