I don’t think the packers are going to let that make them make a move
He’s at the end of his career and you already drafted his replacement, so you can live with not getting any return for him at this stage over bending to what he wants and watching him win a Super Bowl
Not saying it’s necessarily the right move, but the packers are in a position where they can easily dig their heels in and win

"repaired to his liking," per @RapSheet
What is it that he wants? They had the #1 scoring offense last year, so offensive weapons wasn't it. Even if they did draft a WR this year or last year, would Terrace Marshall, Tee Higggins, or Rondale Moore really be the missing guy that makes Rodgers happy? Plus, they didn't have cap space this year to sign any big FA's, partly because of his huge contract. Outside of trading Love, what is it he really wants Green Bay to do in the short term?

I was listening to a podcast and they talked about how QB’s get over drafted to be in the 1st round but after that they are understaffed, how a guy with a second or 3rd round grade typically doesn’t go there but later as teams are filling up with “less critical” positions in these early-mid rounds.
Generally, teams are looking for starters with the first 100 picks (Rounds 1-3).
By day 3 (Rounds 4-7) they start to take chances on guys, and hope they get lucky. Second tier QBs fall into this category, even if they have a 2nd/3rd round grade.
It’s hard to take a project backup QB in the second or third round when there’s a Guard or Safety on the board that is projected to step in and start right away.

Villanueva was 1000% addition by subtraction. He fell off a lot the past two seasons. Losing Pouncey wasn't ideal but his play also started to decline the past few seasons.
In terms of starting OL, they only need a C at the moment (hopefully their round 2 selection today). But they definitely should take an OT/OG at some point for depth purposes.
I 2nd this.

The best thing about the Mac Jones pick is that I don’t have to stress about the Pats taking Mond at 46
Could see the Falcons pouncing on him tonight
Falcons just signed McCarron and his chest tat to be the backup.

That changes nothing.

He wants his ego stroked more.

I just received an email from Colin Cowherd's P.R. team in which said P.R. team claims Cowherd influenced the 49ers to draft Trey Lance.

Cowherd had a recent clip claiming teams call him to ask for his scouting reports on usc players. He's a somehow less likeable Francesa.

The first round of the NFL draft didn't reach the record-setting highs it did a year ago, but the multi-network coverage did draw a big audience Thursday — bigger than the Oscars, in fact.
Coverage of the draft's first round on ABC, ESPN and NFL Network drew a combined audience of 12.52 million viewers Thursday night — about 2 million more than ABC's Academy Awards telecast on Sunday. ESPN had the largest share of viewers with 6.48 million, while ABC brought in 4.19 million and NFL Network 1.85 million. The former two declined from a year ago while NFL Network added about 130,000 viewers.
The 12.52 million viewers for Thursday's coverage fell short of last year's all-time high for the first round — fueled by being the first major sports-related event in the early days of the pandemic — by 3.1 million viewers. It still ranks second all-time for the first night of the NFL draft, however, passing the 12.4 million who watched in 2014.

Trevor Lawrence has been an NFL player for less than 24 hours, but the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback is already breaking records. According to ESPN’s Michael DiRocco, Lawrence broke the record for merchandise sales by a draft pick on the first night of the NFL Draft. Fanatics, which is a licensed merchandise and apparel partner for the NFL and Jaguars, says Lawrence doubled the sales of the previous record holder. The previous record didn’t last very long, as it was set by Joe Burrow after the Cincinnati Bengals drafted him a year ago. The sales numbers include merchandise, memorabilia and pre-sale orders for Lawrence jerseys. Justin Fields, who was drafted by the Chicago Bears, ranked second behind Lawrence.

The draft is the weirdest event. It’s just random as hell. The physical event I mean.
