This is an anomaly IMO. This aeries goes 6 I think Hans win, they always have that WTF game in a series historically.
Reminds me of Nordiques series in 93.
Wishful thinking maybe.

why can't Price keep his head out of his arse?
It's like he removed it for game 7, and then stuck it right back up there afterward

Do not get me started on CP31. I have had my soul ripped away multiple times due to his mental softness.
He is talented but has no guts at times.
ETA:
I hate Vineault more than CP31 he gutted Montreal when he was there. Made Keenan look like a rebuilder that leaves pieces for the future.

quote:Thanks for hooking me up with that. Amazing. Gonna miss him, damnit.
Except the Teemu ending, they had him mic'd up for the handshake line, and the Kings stayed on the ice after to honor him with stick tapping, it was a great moment and you can't watch it without some water in the eyes if you like hockey at all.
Players and fans tribute
Mic'd up handshake line

I am praying for a rematch of the '93 Stanley Cup Finals, with the Kings vs. The Habs. Need some payback!

I remember 93' well that NYR team was good, it helped having Moose leading the charge...

The Rangers have been undefeated since Krieder's return.
Think the Rangers played their best game yesterday, and Montreal had some defensive lapses but it wasn't Price's fault.
Nash still has a goose egg in the goal column lol

Nash scored a goal when the Rangers were up 4 or 5. Broke the streak!

You still alive?
Ovechkin hurt today at World's and it looks bad.

The Washington Capitals' season ended a month ago, but their offseason just got a bleaker with news that captain Alexander Ovechkin was injured in the IIHF World Championships on Sunday.
Ovechkin and his Russian teammates were in the middle of a preliminary round game against Germany when the injury occurred. According to reports, Ovechkin was hip-checked in the knee at the red line by a German player and fell to the ice in pain. He was helped off the ice after two minutes but was reportedly unable to bear any weight on his left knee.

Sorry Baloo - had to turn it off before 7th goal was scored - Also a habit of bitching about Nash becoming more of a Jan Erixon than a Rick Nash

I saw. No official word, though he did tweet out that he's ok. Was seen in the hotel lobby, limping without assistance of crutches. That's encouraging, but we won't know anything until Monday.

Man tough news about Carey Price. Got hurt on this play:
Kreider hits Price
That's a tough play. I don't think Kreider did this intentionally, looks like he got his skates mixed up with the defenseman's stick and lost his balance on a breakaway. After playing the sport for 20 years, I think what he could have done a better job avoiding the collision because he was able to take a step after starting to lose his balance. That being said:
1) I've never been able to skate as fast as Kreider does, and I'm smaller, and a gigantic pussy so yeah, I would have avoided the contact.
2) I've never played for money, much less the stanley cup conference finals. I've definately not had the chance for a breakaway goal.
I don't really fault Kreider for going full speed. But then again, I'm a homer.
I definately think Prust is a loser for basically saying his former teammate ran Price and whining about it. But then again, I can't really blame Prust because he's never been able to skate that fast, and has never been on a breakaway attempt in a conference final either.
What do you guys think?

He injured Craig Anderson last year. He ran Fleury this year in the playoffs. Now he's taken out Price. Each time, on its own, you could make a reasonable case each hit was accidental and just a guy aggressively playing the puck. And I think on the Anderson injury, it was his first time and that argument was perfectly valid. Even Fleury, he could make a real good case he was pushed.
But three times? It strains credibility that a guy accidentally runs three different goalies, severely injuring two of them, in a little over a year. He's not doing this intentionally, but he's not trying too hard to avoid contact.
He deserves a severe beating.

I disagree. Prust is just standing up for his team. He did the same thing last year during the Ottawa series where he called MacLean "a fat bug eyed walrus". He's probably just trying to rile up his teammates. It would probably pump me up if I was his teammate. I haven't been following Kreider too closely since he's been back but Jones and Millbury (I know, it's Millbury) said Kreider's been running goalies and that the Habs should reciprocate.

Yeah, since moving out of the NY area I only get the NHL / NBC network games, and the locally televised ones (Nashville and Carolina). Didn't see those ones.
Hate to say it but you gotta learn after the first time. He isn't necessarily Matt Cooke, but he should get his arse kicked tonight.
Posted on 5/19/14 at 12:43 pm to ironsides
Right. You look at the Price play, and there's nothing really suspendable about it. He goes in skates first, but he was tripped. And on a breakaway in a close game (at the time), he has to be thinking goal not "injure the goalie". Unless he's a sociopath like Matt Cooke. He doesn't technically have a prior history either. I don't see how the league can suspend him for this one.
So, it's up to the Habs to give him a beating. I don't support them running Lundqvist at all. We don't need more goalies getting hurt. But Kreider needs to take it down a notch. So... Bourque should re-arrange his face, and we should all move on. This is EXACTLY the argument for fighting. If there is no fight, then we might as well ban it.
