NFL seems to be following on the NBA's path of drama + big trade = eyeballs.

False. In a salary cap league a first round pick is more valuable than almost any player not on a rookie deal.

It's only valuable if you draft a great player, which is not a guarantee at 19.

OBJ is a known, young great player

If you can get a guy that is half as good as OBJ for 1/10th the cap hit then you won.

Paying players that aren’t a QB or an elite LT or pass rusher is not how the modern day NFL works.

That’s exactly what they are doing by trading for Odell lol. Nobody they could have drafted at 19 would make the same impact Odell can.

Same thing the Rams are doing/did.

You can only do this kind of stuff when you have a QB on a rookie deal or a lot of your roster on rookie deals like Cleveland.

Huh? I'm saying the same thing. You seemed to disagree that draft picks are overrated.

Very true, however this is Cleveland.

OBJ is a tremendous talent and it brings excitement to a franchise that has been a shite show forever.

Not to mention they have Baker on a rookie deal. Get all the talent you can now.

You're saying two different things in this thread.
